“We are now and always have been on our own,” Nordean wrote. “So glad he was able to pardon a bunch of degenerates as his last move and shit on us on the way out.”

Last time I looked charges were placed against 440 people and still going.

I expect there are plenty still expecting Trump to return and pardon everyone, or maybe rapture will arrive first and save them.

Note to that Proud loser-idiot: your idol (Trump) doesn't care about you.

The Washington Post - Opinion: Trump killed the old GOP - and he’s getting away with the murder

today  (closing paragraphs)

... A small but plucky bunch of GOP outsiders - whose leaders include former congressman Charlie Dent, former party chairman Michael Steele and former New Jersey governor Christine Todd Whitman - are weeping and wailing over Cheney’s ouster and huffing and puffing about blowing down the House that Trump built.

Every good wish.

Today’s Republican Party is to Donald Trump what the Workers’ Party of Korea is to Kim Jong Un, the Chinese Communist Party is to Xi Jinping and the United Russia Party is to Vladimir Putin.

The party of Mathias, Cheney, Dent, Steele and Whitman is dead.

The death blow was landed by Trump. And he’s getting away with the murder.

The Washington Post - The purging of Liz Cheney is about much more than the future of the GOP

today

It was just another week in Donald Trump’s Republican Party, and once again, truth was a casualty.

House Republicans replaced a 2020 election truth-teller with a 2020 election truth-denier as the third-ranking member of their leadership.

The purging took barely 20 minutes. In the end, Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) was out and Rep. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.) was in. ...

In a floor speech the night before she was removed from leadership, Cheney blistered the former president and vowed to continue to speak out against him.

She warned that he threatens to incite further violence and said remaining silent only “emboldens the liar.” She added: “Our freedom only survives if we protect it.”

That’s what elevates the Cheney purge beyond intraparty warfare and why it connects to the other things happening.

This is about more than the future direction of the Republican Party. It is about the future of the country and its democracy.

Anyone know how I can send a supportive message to Liz Cheney?

EDIT: This isn't a spoof, I'd like to do this.

LOL, even if it means joining Twitter, Facebook or Instagram - which I vowed I'd never do.

[Mod edit: Cleaned up spelling of company names. FUG breach - "When talking about a company use their real name. We follow the principle that respect must go both ways".]

Here is a link. Use any Wyoming zip code to get past the filter.

This explains them. Just pick an address and use that. I recommend a hotel or public building because the full code refers to a specific residence.

I'd like to tell her she's probably the only person in the entire Republican party with any balls, but I'm not sure whether she'd take that tongue-in-cheek as intended.

Thanks Rikkitic, but I can't get it to go through. The Capitol link seems to want a ZIP code as well as a '+4' code. Any ideas?

EDIT: Belay that last - finally found out how to work it :-)

That's an extended ZIP code with a resolution down to individual households (although technically it shouldn't be able to do that). The + 4 part is mutable so you should be able to pick some random number and it'll work, there's no "valid" vs "invalid" + 4 code.

Edited to add: From Postcodebase: Fillmore St, Laramie is 82070-60xx, xx = 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18.

Thanks, Neb, got it sorted. Ms Cheyney's about to get an email from a guy in Boot Hill Road, Casper :-).

There's an option to not require a reply. I'll probably do that.

I would request a reply, it'd be interesting to see what she, or at least her PR person, says...

The Washington Post - Maricopa County officials decry 2020 recount as a sham and call on Arizona Republicans to end the process

today

The Republican-dominated Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Monday denounced an ongoing audit of the 2020 election vote as a “sham” and a “con,” calling on the GOP-led state Senate to end the controversial recount that has been championed by former president Donald Trump.

In a fiery public meeting and subsequent letter to state Senate President Karen Fann, the board members said the audit has been inept, promoted falsehoods and defamed the public servants who ran the fall election.

Calling the process a “spectacle that is harming all of us,” the five members of the board - including four Republicans - asked the state Senate to recognize that it is essential to call off the audit, which officials have said is only about one-quarter complete.

It is time to make a choice to defend the Constitution and the Republic,” they wrote. “We stand united together to defend the Constitution and the Republic in our opposition to the Big Lie. We ask everyone to join us in standing for the truth” ...

In a calculated show of unity, they were joined by Maricopa’s other elected officials: the sheriff, a Democrat; and the Republican county recorder, who leads the elections office.

Our state has become a laughingstock,” the county officials wrote. “Worse, this ‘audit’ is encouraging our citizens to distrust elections, which weakens our democratic republic.” ...
