Oh, I would LOVE to see Trump testify. If he's man enough to stand up and do it, that is, instead of hiding behind his keyboard and whining about how hard his life is.

Of course, I can also imagine the minute that the committee starts asking him the hard questions or throwing pesky facts at him (aka the "truth") he would storm out of the room in a huff, complaining how he's the victim.

Pedophiles-behind-every-bush and the radical left conspiracy are two of the nonsensical magic touchstones for the American right, along with guns which at least aren't nonsensical. So if you want to demonise anything, absolutely anything at all, call them a pedophile or radical left, or preferably both, and you're done. So don't dismiss "grooming children for sexual predators", it has as much meaning for the US right as the January 6th inquiry has for rational people.

This is a scary read, these are people who have essentially checked out from reality. If you look at things like 1920s and 1930s Germany and Austria the various groups demonised each other but still had a grasp on reality, while what's being described in that writeup are people who have become detached from reality and are drifting free in space. I don't have access to my pet psychologist at the moment so can anyone offer a professional opinion on what the mechanism behind that is?

He also accused fellow Representative Ilhan Omar, a female Somali-born Muslim, as affiliated with terrorist organizations. This prompted Democrats to demand that his statements be removed from the congressional record. The House’s rules-enforcer then struck Perry’s comments from the record and barred him from speaking on the floor for the rest of the night.

Today, former president Donald Trump attacked the Jan. 6 hearings, accusing the House select committee investigating the 2021 attack on the Capitol of presenting a “phony narrative,” while repeating his false claims that he won the 2020 election, during an address to a conservative political advocacy group.

In lengthy remarks, Trump lashed out at the committee, Democrats and even his own former aides and allies, particularly former vice president Mike Pence and former attorney general William P. Barr.

“Mike did not have the courage to act,” Trump said Friday at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event in Nashville.

Barr, he added, did not support his efforts because he was afraid of being impeached.

As usual, it was all somebody else's fault. 😉

I honestly don't see the problem with this. Considering the way some whites have been behaving, any replacement is likely to be an improvement!

Blacks - very creative people as a group, especially in the field of music. A huge boost to the human condition.

Jews - According to some, they are financial wizards who keep the economy going so whites don't starve.

I apologise if I caused any offense. I was trying to point out how stupid stereotyping is by reversing some. I think the 'replacement' notion is a disgusting obscenity.
