It's always about him.

Remember the Speaker Johnson has repeatedly said America is not a democracy: "two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner" Instead, Johnson has said that the Founders set up America as a constitutional republic “because they followed a biblical admonition” and also called for “biblically sanctioned government”

Contrary to the US Bill of Rights’ prohibition on the establishment of any state religion. he's promoted the notion that the United States is a “Christian nation” and God's laws take precedence.

So justice, the constitution, and law and order are equally applied to all, just more equally applied to some.

New York Times: After Trump Testifies, Republicans Attack Judge in Civil Fraud Trial

Representative Elise Stefanik, a member of the House Republican leadership and an ally of former President Donald J. Trump, filed an ethics complaint Friday attacking the judge presiding over Mr. Trump’s civil fraud trial, the latest salvo in a right-wing war against the case.
...
it represents the latest Republican attempt to tar Justice Engoron, and to meddle with Ms. James’s case. The judge has placed narrow gag orders on both the former president and his lawyers, but nothing bars Mr. Trump’s allies from their criticism.

They have taken up the effort with gusto.
...
Justice Engoron, 74, has not responded to the attacks outside the courtroom, though at one point this week he lost his temper when a lawyer for Mr. Trump, Christopher M. Kise, suggested, as he has throughout the trial, that the judge had been biased.

“I object now, and I continue to object, to your constant insinuations that I have some sort of double standard here. That is just not true,” the judge said, adding, “I just make the rulings as I see them. You know, like the umpire says, call them as I see them.”

Trump not happy about this one. “Fake News CNN just did a story, leaked by Deranged Prosecutor Jack Smith and his massive team of Radical Left Lunatics, that various people saw papers and boxes at Mar-a-Lago,

Of course they did!

They may have been the boxes etc. that were openly and plainly brought from the White House, as is my right under the Presidential Records Act,””

CNN: Exclusive: What the woodworker saw: Trump documents trial may put resort workers on witness stand, sources say

plumber, a maid, a chauffeur and a woodworker are among Mar-a-Lago staffers and contract workers who federal prosecutors may call to testify against former President Donald Trump and his two co-defendants at their upcoming criminal trial in Florida, according to multiple people familiar with the investigation.

CNN has assembled a comprehensive picture of how prosecutors are structuring their case against Trump over his mishandling of classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago.

While some of the witnesses who may be called to testify hail from Trump’s inner circle, including his career in business, as a political candidate and from his time in the White House, other potential witnesses are the types of workers rarely noticed by Mar-a-Lago’s wealthy guests, according to the sources.

Other likely witnesses also include Trump Secret Service agents, former intelligence officials, as well as people who were in the room with Trump when he was captured on multiple audio recordings referencing a military document about potential plans to bomb Iran, according to the sources.

But the low-level workers who were the eyes and ears of Mar-a-Lago, if called to testify, could offer the public a new level of insight into the exclusive club and Trump’s approach to sensitive national security information since he left office. Some of them are still employed at Mar-a-Lago.

https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/trumps-nesting-doll-of-lies >> a somewhat plausible (and worrying) assessment in here.

Query, if Trump loses next year (God I hope so), I wonder if he would try again in 2028?

Politico: Echoes of Jan. 6 committee as Jack Smith foreshadows plan to tie Trump to Capitol riot

When Donald Trump faces a jury on charges stemming from his bid to subvert the 2020 election, he wants to prohibit federal prosecutors from even mentioning the chaos and violence unleashed by his supporters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. But to special counsel Jack Smith, Trump’s role in the riot is the heart of the case.

A new court filing from Smith’s team this week reveals that the mob that stormed Congress in Trump’s name will be the centerpiece of his trial, scheduled to begin on March 4. It wasn’t just an unfortunate reaction to Trump’s incendiary remarks that day, prosecutors contend. It was a tool that Trump used to launch one last desperate bid to cling to power.
...
Trump has argued in civil lawsuits and other filings that he was using common political metaphors when he urged the crowd to “fight like hell” to prevent Biden from taking office.

The Jan. 6 committee presented evidence that Trump was aware of the presence of weapons in the crowd he addressed and that he sought to travel with the crowd to the Capitol, only to be overruled by the Secret Service.

See related story from 6 years ago: The National Party in New Zealand gave Peter Thiel citizenship after he spent just 12 days there

“If Peter Thiel was an amazing ambassador and salesperson for New Zealand we would have found out he was a citizen of New Zealand because he would have told the world that he was a citizen of New Zealand,” Labour’s Lees-Galloway said. “He kept it under wraps. He hasn’t gone around telling the world that he’s a citizen of New Zealand and that he’s proud of New Zealand.”

Washington Post: Why Silicon Valley billionaires like Peter Thiel turned against Trump

A year ago, the Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel received a pitch from a longtime associate, the right-wing pundit Ann Coulter, encouraging him to throw his weight behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, an emerging contender for the Republican presidential nomination.

Thiel was torn. Coulter was one of many people urging the onetime political kingmaker — who supported Donald Trump in 2016 and bankrolled a roster of Trump-aligned contestants in the 2022 midterms — to back a candidate in the 2024 race, according to three people familiar with private conversations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe them.

The pressure campaign continued this April, when Trump himself called to ask Thiel for his support. In a contentious phone conversation, the tech mogul declined.

Just two months before Republican primary season kicks off in Iowa, Thiel is one of several powerful Silicon Valley conservatives reevaluating their participation in politics. Tech heavyweights who helped ignite Trump’s candidacy have told close associates they feel alienated from the GOP and are casting about for a candidate who more closely aligns with their extreme pro-business agenda.

Trump either
  1. whipping up his base to murder

  2. acting like a mob boss / dictator to scare witnesses, judicial workers, jury members

  3. daring the judges to detain him pre-trail

  4. all of the above
New York Times: In Veterans Day Speech, Trump Promises to ‘Root Out’ the Left

Former President Donald J. Trump, on a day set aside to celebrate those who have defended the United States in uniform, promised to honor veterans in part by assailing what he portrayed as America’s greatest foe: the political left.

Using incendiary and dehumanizing language to refer to his opponents, Mr. Trump vowed to “root out” what he called “the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.”

“The threat from outside forces is far less sinister, dangerous and grave than the threat from within,” Mr. Trump said Saturday in a nearly two-hour Veterans Day address in Claremont, N.H.

Mr. Trump accused Democrats and President Biden of trying to roll back his efforts to expand veteran access to health care, causing soaring inflation, pushing the country to the brink of World War III, endangering the troops in Afghanistan and of lying and rigging elections.

He also promised to care for America’s veterans, reviving a hyperbolic claim that he made throughout his 2016 campaign that Democrats “treat the illegal aliens just pouring into our country better than they treat our veterans.”
...
Mr. Trump again called for executing drug dealers, praising China for making drug trafficking a capital offense. But in New Hampshire, a state where the opioid crisis has hit particularly hard, he turned to an informal straw poll to strengthen his case.

“Let’s have a vote,” Mr. Trump said to the crowd. “Who would be in favor of the death penalty — now, wait, don’t go yet — knowing that it will solve the problem?

You'll remember that all Trump had to say is his Vice President lacked courage. For that his base of far-right supporters with Confederate flags, Crusader crosses, Auschwitz-themed hoodies and “white power” hand gestures chanted “Hang Mike Pence” as they stormed the building looking for the vice president.

ABC News: Donald Trump's relentless attacks on special counsel Jack Smith

Trump on Jack Smith: "deranged lunatic." ..."He's a raging and uncontrolled Trump-hater, as is his wife ..." thug" and accused him of doing "political hit jobs."
...
As part of his strategy to discredit the investigation, Trump has repeatedly gone after Smith and his wife, who produced a 2020 documentary about Michelle Obama, as well as documentaries about other high-profile figures.

Trump's repeated attacks on Smith and his family follow a familiar pattern of his lashing out at those leading probes into his conduct. His inflammatory comments about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the judge overseeing his hush-money criminal case in New York prompted questions about whether a gag order would be issued.
...
"Trump has done this with [New York Attorney General] Letitia James, he has done this with [Fulton County District Attorney] Fani Willis, just every prosecutor that's investigated him," Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, told ABC News. James has sued Trump for alleged fraud and Willis is looking into Trump's efforts to interfere with the presidential election in Georgia.

Don't his flock get sick of falling over themselves for the orange buffoon, yet getting next-to-nothing in return? How gullible are these people?

And yet, the people who should be denouncing his nonsense are almost too scared of doing it:
