Trump would never have won the Presidency in the first place if it wasn't for the arcane electoral college voting system.

The system overrides the will of the voters. It is completely undemocratic and is decades out of date.

Theirs is a crap system, alright. What the US needs is MMP. Look at our recent election - three power-hungry dorks who nobody likes are forced to swallow their pride and chum up with rivals they wouldn't pee on if they were on fire. So neither one gets to single-handedly make the rules. I love it to bits!

The Don was unable to resist bashing all the people involved in his New York civil fraud trial when he took to his Truth Social platform on Thursday morning to offer Thanksgiving "greetings".

Thanksgiving is considered a family friendly holiday, possibly even more warm-and-fuzzy than Christmas.

Trump really has no class.

He's the elderly Thanksgiving guest with the embarrassing conspiracy theories ruining the dinner for everyone else.

The only time I'd expect to hear vitriol during Thanksgiving, bitter criticism or malice, would be to describe transport.

Mark Hamill—a person with intimate knowledge of the Star Wars universe—summed up everyone else's reaction perfectly with a single sentence on X.

https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/trump-rallies-hate-vulgarity-disrespect >> this is kinda depressing. If the orange buffoon gets elected again, is there any hope for America, at all? 😕

It's easy to become despondent about what's happening in the US, but I believe that there are enough good, honest, sensible people in that country to ensure that justice will finally prevail.

This video is worth a look. The host, Ben Meiselas, has a delivery style which can be a little sleep-inducing, but he includes three clips from powerful, mature conservatives who despise MAGA and all that it stands for. The entire video is only 10 minutes long, but if you want, skip to 3:12, 6:08 and 7:58. What they have to say is heartening :-)

That's all good but there is not enough money and influence behind any non-Trump candidate in selection to make a big difference. The money is still on Trump as the Republican candidate for 2024. I get the impression big names like Musk prefer Trump over any non-Trump aligned candidate.

The first conservative speaker around 3min states Trump has severely damaged America in international diplomacy. Once again this is true, yet there is no Republican candidate looking to heal those issues. Even in the case one of the non-Trump candidates wins selection in the primary it's going to take two terms at least just to patch the Republican party.

I'd warrant 99% of Americans don't give a s**t about international diplomacy anyway.
