How idiotic is this? GOP candidates asked if they'd support Trump if convicted (msn.com)

Even without Trump in the debate, they all swore fealty to the orange man. Even Pence, who would now be dead if Trump had his way back in the Jan 6th coup.

Former President Donald Trump, who has been indicted four different times this year, did not participate in Wednesday's GOP debate — but he was a topic of discussion among the eight other candidates who took the stage. "You all signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee," said moderator Brett Baier. "If former President Trump is convicted in a court of law, would you still support him as your party's choice? Please raise your hand if you would." Here's how they answered.

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence raised their hands, saying they would support Trump as the party's nominee – even if he was convicted.

Yep very much a show of weakness, still scared of Trump and looking to secure MAGAs.

Did Vivek Ramaswamy win the 'most like trump award' award ?

Some may have a bob each way, should Trump win the primary I can win his selection of vice president.

Republican national committee (RNC) alleges Google spam filter bias and loses case. Author of politcial bias filtering study says it was cherry picked. Judge says Google has 230 and RNC failed to prove any bad faith allegation. Judge tells RNC you lose have another go with better evidence. Also, lots of spam config fail from RNC.

https://www.engadget.com/judge-tosses-republican-lawsuit-against-google-over-gmail-spam-filters-075622648.html

It seems like many of the politics cases rely on the chance of getting a friendly judge from the ballot. Cases winning the first round seem to be lost on appeal as soon as it hits a competent judge regardless of political allegiance or appointment.

Democrats must have these silly side cases too. None spring to mind.

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/04/new-hampshire-nikki-haley-desantis-00119864 >> yes I realise they're both quite a way behind Trump in the polls, but this is interesting, given that - for a while. anyway - De Santis was seen as the Republicans solution to moving on from Trump. I'm starting to think his flame has dimmed somewhat now.

Would Kennedy suck away from voters from Biden or Trump? (hopefully the latter 🤞)

Rikkitic:

Pence is out.

I feel like it was only a matter of time until this happened, given what the Republican Party is like now compared to 2016. While I'm not a fan of Pence's politics, at least he swore - and upheld his - allegiance to the Constitution, not the orange buffoon.

Pence ( Silent Bob )
To make up for 4 years of just cruising around in the background not challenging any of the increasing nuttiness.
A great show of leadership skills.
Pence did finally do something.

He did not allow the 'Secret Service' to evacuate him from the capitol.
He then oversaw the final counting of the vote.
It may have been no more than following the script, but that was all that was needed.
One can imagine the chaos if there was no transfer of power and Trump had people in the Military ready for such an emergency.

How easily Americans/Evangelicals/Libertarians/Constitutionalists, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and pals would sign up for a dictatorship.
As mean, dumb and dangerous as any other.

Putin agrees along with ROC, Evangelicals... God loves a dictator.
Strict Catholics like to flirt with that as well it seems.

Pence will probably fade into the background and take no part in pointing out how Republicans,
Evangelicals, etc have fallen and need to reconsider the worship of Trumplicanism.

The remainer of the candidates seem to be almost falling over themselves to indicate that immunity and pardons will flow like gentle rain from heaven on the chosen.
Their True Colours of a different sort, and definitely not beautiful like a rainbow.

The only remaining candidates qualified for the 3rd Republican Party official debate are

- DeSantis
- Haley
- Ramaswamy
- Christie

Trump will stay away and probably as before schedule a speaking event for the same night to deprive his challengers of an audience.

the Iranian trolling of USA is not helping Democrats, even though most foreign issues were caused by Trump himself

Trump is the guaranteed Republican candidate from how i'm seeing it.

It will be Trump vs whoever the Democrats put up.
