Well, at least TRY to understand what I am saying about "relevance".  I'm not trying to be insulting here but, mate... really...

I reject what you're saying.

You're the one who was making the claim that Obama was/is a sh*t president. You haven't produced a scrap of evidence or any credible allegation to support that claim.

Presented with evidence that with unemployment, job creation, economic growth improving over his 8 year term, you disingenuously argue that that the data is "drivel" and then go on to say that the correlation has nothing to do with Obama, as in your opinion it's an irrelevant coincidence.

That's truly "SAD".

No evidence necessary - it's my opinion.  Opinions don't require evidence.

Anyhow... with regard to my cynicism and/or perceived beliefs and/or behaviours, I'm actually very open to other people's opinions.  I'm one that thinks for himself... seriously.  I am not swayed by any theory or conjecture offered by my fellow man (or woman).  My opinions are my opinions - nothing more.  I do sincerely apologise if you think I have an agenda in life.  To be honest, I'm too old for that crap.  I love the idea of a Utopian society but, I am also a realist.  You and I will never see such as that.

With regard to employment/unemployment and all the other statistics... what I have learned is this;  we can paint any picture or argue any point until we are blue in the face but, the truth lies in the outcome.  Either we followed the right person who aligns with our beliefs or we were seriously hoodwinked.  In either event, we represent the common man and should not fault one another.  I don't believe either of us is out to become the next POTUS or PM so, we're both subject to the stories those individuals tells.  To that end, let me make it clear...

We are all human...

We do stupid things...

We all believe our way is better than the next persons...

I don't believe in wars, and killings, or telling my fellow man how he (or she) should live...

I believe in every man having the opportunity to better themselves without the use of making their fellow man a stepping stone to achieving those goals...

I hate prejudice and I hate absolute power...

I'm not your enemy.

On the same token, I believe in giving everyone an equal opportunity and in those cases where people lag behind, give them a hand.  I do not believe in making someone a leader just because they are black, white, man, or woman, gay or straight...  none of that matters to me.  Do as you do and do as you choose but, don't force your beliefs down my throat, nor will I, you.  If I want to believe that what you do is wrong, then accept that and we will get along fine.  I won't hassle you but, don't hassle me because I believe differently.

If the US wants to go to hell in an hand-basket, let it go.  There is nothing you can do to stop it.  At the same time though... judge from what you know... not from what you have been lead to believe.

Apart from all this... We're probably on the same page with a whole lot of things.  Me... I spent years and years and years in school, learning how to pick apart the BS that people throw at one another as the "prima facie" evidence of what should be.  The only thing that saddens me is, those people who are either too ignorant or are too set in the ways to try and learn something objectively.

I don't care that you are a liberal and absolutely abhor the idea that Trump got elected... that is your choice.  At the same time though, afford me the privilege of thinking, "Yeah, great move!"  I'll never convince you that many of the things you read are bogus but, that's the way of the world.  It's been that way for thousands of years.  There will always be a pile of people that you can dangle anything in front of and they will suck it up as the Gospel of Paul.

In my opinion, you blind yourself by not challenging what it is you read.  BUT... that is your freedom and your choice to do so.  I learned a long, long time ago that, you can't tell stupid people they are stupid simply because... they won't believe you.

@jimsonweed well one hopes your opinions are based in fact. If you don't accept the graphs that were posted about job stats, what source would you accept that information from? What would happen if you said he was a crap President but statistics provided by the people who are supposed to track this information, proved you wrong?

Those graphs are based on information from the source, there should be *no* difficulty in verifying them, unless you don't accept the source?

That's my point exactly... whether or not I have no evidence at all or a pile or meaningless charts and graphs, my opinion is my opinion.  It doesn't mean it's an educated or informed opinion... it's simply that... "my opinion".

If you were asked, "What is love?"   You might have an opinion based on what you think and/or feel or, you might break all academic on us and quote 1st Corinthians.  What is the difference?  One is founded on the 4 seasons and the other is founded on a book that some belief and others do not.

Based on the things you believe in, you should be aligning with the democrats. The things above are all things (generally speaking) that progress under left leaning governments and regress under right leaning ones.

That presumes that Republicans love war, killing their fellow man... denying the opportunity of others to advance themselves... prejudice, and absolute power.

Why can't it be that both Democrats and Republicans share some of the same ideologies?  There are people known as "moderates" who tend to meet in the middle.  It can't be completely one way or the other because, history has shown us that this is not a workable solution.

You are being rude here. This is one warning only.

You have been trolling hard. You asked for evidence and people provided it - myself included. And yet when people ask YOU to give evidence that contrary to data provided someone you dislike did not perform well... You say "No evidence necessary - it's my opinion.  Opinions don't require evidence."

Stop trolling. People don't have time for this shit.

Well those who have never left New Zealand should understand how America voted their President by just reading the last 2-3 pages of this thread. Enough said.

This is probably the smartest comment on this thread.

Wow. Just Wow. A Lawyer that believes in guilty till proven innocent.

If he DID do it (and is convicted), (as I made VERY clear earlier) then he should be hung out to dry and punished to the full extent of the law, but until the time he is convicted, he is innocent of those allegations.

Just in case you decide to twist my words, that does NOT mean I am an apologist, nor does it mean I support or like him, it simply means I believe he should be treated like anyone else accused of a crime.

For the record, I found what he *said* revolting and foul.

Let's just play your schoolyard game for a moment. I'm a lawyer, practiced, and actually have a first class honours masters degree in law. You might not know some of these facts but given your, shall I charitably put it, prolific posting on here, you must understand that I have an obvious and irrefutable legal background. Do you seriously and from the bottom of your heart think that I believe what you are asserting? How can he be guilty of anything absent a conviction by a competent court of law? You're simply twisting my words out of context for the sake of "I got him! I got him!" -- this is just incredibly puerile. And you know what's funny? This is the second time in a day or so where you have blatantly twisted my words and I note that on the other occasion where I eviscerated your argument, you hightailed.

What I meant -- and meant absolutely no more than this -- is that Trump by his own words has shown that he's a misogynistic moron through saying that committing sexual assault and harassment of women is okay. The fact that you were independently advised to review your stance by someone who isn't exactly known for agreeing with me should have given you cause to stop defending the indefensible.

You clearly have a problem with me and that's fine. But how about not dragging this into almost every thread in which I post?

Here is a much more appropriate, considerably less condescending and insulting reply you could have posted, that would have been easily as effective.

I decided not to respond to the rest, I felt it non-productive (I don't see you ever changing your position), but I couldn't disagree with you more on most of it. For the record, I am not "high tailing it", I am simply not engaging you, as much as I want to,

to avoid detracting this conversation.
