Its not about winning or losing. She is a senior politician and activist that gives as good as she gets, but in this case silence says a lot. Maybe its all nonsense, but when there is smoke...

Either way all of this is going to come out in the end. There may or may not be a good reason for the long silence. I am happy to wait for a resolution. I don't understand the impatience of some.

She is a publicly elected official whose allocated policy area is justice. She is quite reasonably being held to a higher standard than someone in private life.

The ability to address this lies in her power. At this point the most reasonable conclusion is she’s either guilty, inept or both.

As an elected representative she should be held to a higher standard. I agree with that. So wait till she gets home and then hold her. She is not part of the government. The country won't collapse if it takes a few days to find out what happened.

Apparently she's back. I will be very interested to hear what she has to say. I will give her a few days to settle in and collect her thoughts, but if there is no reasonable communication by the end of the week I will gladly join the mob baying for her blood.

I suspect she has had weeks to collect her thoughts. Clearly there was some sort of incident/s at the store that involved her that needs an immediate response. The longer she takes the more damage it will do to her and her party.
