An interesting look at possible election outcomes from Newsroom: https://www.newsroom.co.nz/election-gets-six-of-the-best

Amazing to think we're on the precipice of two seismic changes in NZ:
1) The Greens securing a second anchor seat
2) ACT securing a second anchor seat.
I mean... I'm kind of bored of hearing about Epsom all the time.

@sen8or why do you call this a zombie thread? It's very active and in no way "dead".

I realise this is a current / very active thread, but question the digging up of a tweet from 2013 to discredit him?
I am sure there are tweets / social media posts that many people said in the past that they probably shouldn't have (myself included), but this just seems to becoming more of the done thing now, sadly delving into the archives to dig up dirt on opponents and attack them with.

How you suggest voters evaluate the aptitude of a candidate without looking at their previous comments and position on issues that affect the community then?
In this case he was approached and did not comment on the issue or demonstrate a change of position.
This is not digging up old stuff but bringing their position to light.

After reading The Spinoff's report this morning, I get the feeling this guy didn't write the rebuttal personally either, it seems more like someone in the National Party wrote it for him:
gzt: Opinion poll result in Wellington Central electorate. The party vote there has a similar split.

To put that into perspective here are the results from 2020. Figures rounded to nearest whole number.
Grant Robertson - Labour 58%
Nicola Willis - National 18%
James Shaw - Greens 18%

Yeah his racist "add raro" did not make me think kindly towards him.
And I really dont think those kinds of fruit loops change stance very easily.
I would not trust him.

To be fair, here is a Labour candidate that is also a "deplorable": Labour candidate railed against HPV vaccine on social media (1news.co.nz)
