With the astonishing result that the head of his "very distinguished VOTER FRAUD PANEL" won't be able to supply himself with the details he's requested of himself to supply in his other position as Secretary of State for Kansas.

Whilst I understand the sentiment, refusing to cooperate simply plays right into Trump's hands. 'The States refuse to cooperate! Proof there's a cover-up!'
I respectfully disagree. Not with most of your other posts, but I think you have this one wrong. Trump or those pulling his strings are systematically trying to dismantle democratic institutions and procedures. I think it is very important to make a stand against this creeping authoritarianism and that is what the officials of these states are doing. An investigation into possible voter fraud is okay. The kind of highly sensitive personal information being demanded is not.
I would have thought a key component of investigating possible voter fraud would be to check the validity of the votes cast and the validity of the voter, to do this some personal information would have to be obtained. Having said that asking for Party affiliation seems to me to have nothing to do with determining voter fraud the same with social security ID.

Well, let me clarify: I actually agree with you. But Trump would use refusal to cooperate as an opportunity to cry proof of a cover-up. So it's a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. As you know, I generally lean very much towards personal privacy, but honestly I'm in two minds about this one. They should never give away private information, but in the interests of shutting up Donald Trump I feel like they should bend over backwards in every other aspect.
The problem is it won't shut him up. The more you give to someone like him, the more he demands. When you cave, he sees it as a sign of weakness and license to go even further. If you refuse to cooperate, he blusters and blathers but at least you have set a clear limit.

He also won't shut up on stuff like that because he's stuck in an echo-chamber with fake news, conspiracy theorists, and a significant number of ordinary but dumb Americans continually reassuring him that he's right,
The US is - with Trump at the helm - an Idiocracy.

Par for the Trump course... putting a climate-denier in charge of the EPA and Mike Pence in charge of NASA and Betty DeVos in charge of Education is effectively the same.
Perhaps Merkel is now "Leader of the Free World"'
Confidence in Trump/Merkel to do the right thing regarding world affairs:
Result of those polled in USA:
Trump 46%
Merkel 56%
Even at home - Trump's a loser. One amusing thing (perhaps I'm too easily amused), Pew is the source of a poll, misinterpreted by Trump and cited by him - that led him to believe that there could have been voter fraud. No - the poll did not suggest voter fraud, it pointed out that there were errors in vioter registration data, due to deaths not being recorded, and people being registered in two states - as are members of Trump's own family.

I don't buy that whole "leader of the free World thing" Trump leads the US, Merkel leads Germany.

Trump is only leader of the worlds largest economy and his ego. Hos future will be decided very soon as the US has some big challenges looming.

Lawrence O'Donnell talks to psychiatrist Dr. Prudence Gourguechon who evaluates Trump's recent behavior using criteria set forth in the U.S. Army Field Manual:
Strategic Leadership Qualities:
Good thing he isn't enlisted in the army - based on that list, PVT Trump would be spending his entire military career on KP - peeling hand-sized small potatoes with a plastic safety knife.
The ironically named "Clean Ocean" arrives in Poland with first US LNG delivery - a few days before Trump delivers speech to say "Western civilisation is in peril".
Meanwhile Qatar, sitting on the world's largest LNG reserves - claims it's under siege because of "trumped up" claims it supports terrorism, made by friend of USA Saudi Arabia - who actually do sponsor real terrorism in the west. Offer to Qatar - shut down Al Jazeera - because - you know, "fake news". Putin will also be very happy (not) with the way things are going - "buyer's remorse".
MAGA - hooray. Saving the West from peril?
Problem with the 25th amendment is the VP has to kick the process off. He's not looking or sounding anywhere close to that point yet. Then there's always the problem, as pointed out in the article, of getting psychiatrists to agree. I'd say at this point in time, the 25th amendment is a dead horse. It's going to take something exceptionally spectacular to give it life.
