Even at home - Trump's a loser. One amusing thing (perhaps I'm too easily amused), Pew is the source of a poll, misinterpreted by Trump and cited by him - that led him to believe that there could have been voter fraud. No - the poll did not suggest voter fraud, it pointed out that there were errors in vioter registration data, due to deaths not being recorded, and people being registered in two states - as are members of Trump's own family.

I don't buy that whole "leader of the free World thing" Trump leads the US, Merkel leads Germany.

Well I'd say that Trump couldn't lead a toy mutt if it had wheels, but that's just semantics.

The title is misleading. The Dr. evaluates trumps 'leadership' qualities based on the us army field manual. Ie; not his mental medical fitness.

In the last 10 seconds she addresses the 'fit to serve' question. The answer is pretty close to yes.

IMO he has gone from fighting and bleating on Twitter to losing his temper. Snapped. His wife says, punch him, he will punch back 10 X harder. he is doing that but its more a temper issue. I could be wrong but I feel this recent issue tips the balance. Where tolerance was grudgingly given by Repubs and his own supporters. I feel many will now draw a line, "we believed in you, we put up with your rants and weird actions, but this is from another planet"

I don't want this to be a "told ya so" situation - so please don't take it the wrong way.

Trump's behaviour over the past couple of weeks has had zero impact on his approval rating as polled daily by Gallup. It remains on 38% (+/- 3).

I don't think this bodes well for the future, there's a core support for "Team Trump" and almost nothing will shift them. If the polls stayed where they are - with high disapproval rating - then that's probably meaning that his regime is fairly well doomed in mid-terms and 2020 - but polls suggested he had almost no chance of winning the presidency.

I fear what he'll do to try and increase his popularity, but perhaps worse, his support base is a very solid extremely partisan minority, so even if (hopefully) the GOP is hammered in mid-terms and Trump is defeated in 2020, things have potential to get very ugly. Many do believe that there's an orchestrated liberal conspiracy - and that Trump's lies and attacks are the best way to counter that - and that it's their duty to lend a hand to that agenda.

The Gallup poll interviewed 1,500 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Trump's 37 percent approval rating is dismal, especially for a president so early in his tenure, when the American people typically afford the office a grace period of sorts. Around this point in his first term, for instance, former President Barack Obama had a 60 percent approval rating.

Things have gotten so bad for Trump that far more people support impeaching him than support the job he's doing in the Oval Office. Many do believe that there's an orchestrated liberal conspiracy - and that Trump's lies and attacks are the best way to counter that - and that it's their duty to lend a hand to that agenda.

What it does show, is that the baseline of poor is 38% approval. Thus, there will always be approval of the extremists. So, for us normal people where total disapproval is zero, its 38% over there. So, hopefully he will continue on his present path.

38% support shouldn't be considered "extremist" - it's quite mainstream, over 1 in three.

The "trend" is for stable support levels - it's not declining.

I'm thinking that if the ~38% figure is in fact the baseline, then there's a serious problem in the USA - which isn't going to just go away.

I'd like to see him impeached, convicted and jailed.

It's unprecedented that from anything other than some banana republic controlled by a despot, the leader's family would be so deeply entwined in the administration. Having your daughter step in to hold your place at a G20 meeting is completely nuts.
