Every time I see Haley, I think of a bird of prey eyeing its dinner. Not making a value judgement, just saying this is how I respond.

https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/sorry-nikki-haley-no-path-after-new-hampshire >> an interesting analysis as to what her chances are in New Hampshire of beating Trump (hint: not too flash).
They have been digging dirt on Haley, and while Americans are quite down with Trump.
His infidelity and worse.
Any rumor of scandal about Haley affairs in the past may sink any chance.
America was founded by Puritans after all.
Judge Judy has endorsed her.

What I admire most is that she's always sought consensus – not with watered-down compromise, but with common sense solutions. And she gets results, not with baloney and bravado, but with hard, clear-eyed work.
""
She does talk well about USA maintaining a place in the world with NATO and backstopping South Korea and Taiwan.
Her time as UN rep for USA may have given her more experience of the powers in the world.
Her speeches are 'not' rambling, half incoherent, full of invective as per Trump.
She bends the knee to Trump on pardons.
Nikki has said outright repeatedly that Trump would be an utter disaster.
So balance of evils.
Making it past Trump who is the messenger of God, promising baloney, its a tough ask.

If she drops out is there even any point continuing with the Republican primaries?

No, they would go straight to campaigning for the election.
Most De Santis voters will migrate to Trump. Haley is a dead man walking.
Which is why I was so surprised when De Santis dropped out, right after Iowa - he came in second place too, hardly a massive failure, although I acknowledge the difference in margins between his final tally and Trump's.
DeSantis was at a dead end. Haley is not. While the odds favour Trump, it is not at all impossible that Haley could match or even beat him. If that happens it is a whole new ball game.

According to all the pundits, both Republican and Democrat, on the BBC this morning Haley cannot win the nomination. She is likely to lose NH by around 20 points. And the following State primaries are even worse for her, including her own state.
I don't see how she can stay in the race by just hoping that one of Trumps many court cases find him guilty especially as the case or cases would have to come to a definite conclusion probably at the SC. He can easily delay that until after the election and the SC may even help him in that regard to avoid making some awkward constitutional decisions. Where is the money going to come from to enable her to continue for such a long shot?
No matter how much we want her to beat him, Trump is going to be the nominee. And from where I'm sitting he's going to be the next President.

Four years can seem like an awfully long time.
While it's possible, I hope you're wrong, 4 more years of the orange buffoon...Jesus. The US is truly stuffed if the majority (somehow) think he was anything approaching a "good" leader 🙄
You also reminded me of a piece in the book I'm reading re Trump. I worry that Steve Bannon, the racist a-hole may have more power this time if he gets involved again, despite falling out with Trump previously and being booted out of the latter's cabinet, they seem to be good mates again now:
And sure enough, the two were back together again in 2023, with Bannon interviewing now presidential candidate Trump for a special episode of War Room recorded at Mar-a-Lago in late April. The former chief strategist was back in Trump’s good graces, just like old times. “I’ve never seen him better,” Bannon told me. “You do understand, we’re going back to the White House. I feel it.”
“What happens if Trump loses?” I asked him. “Aren’t you at all worried that violence could break out again?”
“I’m not worried about that at all,” he responded. “Because we are going to win.”
I really hope he's wrong, too.

The MAGA crowd aside I think it's more a case that in the swing states they don't want Biden. I fail to understand how the Dems can't see it's the same problem as 2016 when he got in because the swing states didn't want Clinton.
If Trump wins I'm laying most of the blame on the Dems doorstep. I they put up any sort of reasonable candidate instead of a shuffling geriatric they would beat Trump easily.
Looks like Trump has (depressingly) won New Hampshire as well. Sigh. (https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/01/23/new-hampshire-primary-2024)
However... https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/23/trump-moderate-republicans-problem-00137112 >> while it looks great for him now in the primaries, the general electorate is a different story.
