Donald Trump Announces Successful Delivery of Fictional Call of Duty Fighter Jet

See, this is the thing about Trump. He obviously simply mis-spoke: what he meant to say was that the US had sold 52 F-35s to Norway, but instead he said they sold F-52s to Norway. Anyone else, this wouldn't be news. But Trump has such a habit of being ... well there are so many things. Anyway the point is that if there was any reason to be slightly sorry for him for this being blown out of proportion, he's well and truly used up any sympathy he might have otherwise gotten.

On a related note, more evidence that - shockingly - the North Koreans are neither stupid not suicidal.

As one opined, “it would be suicidal to attack the USA first and especially with nuclear weapons. We understand that it would be the last day of our country.”

Certainly not stupid. Apparently Alexander Vorontsov (who wrote that article) is the head of the Department for Korean and Mongolian Studies and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russia Academy of Sciences.  So he has close to unparalleled access to NK high ranking government and military officials, and an excellent platform to disseminate and spread the information he takes from meeting those NK officials.  I imagine NK is well aware of who he is and who will listen to what he takes away from NK, so some degree of manipulation is not unlikely.

Just a thought.

I wanted to post a link to the Washington Post story about Trump's latest transgression. But the language parser won't let me. It's on the main page, with the headline "Trump attacks protections for immigrants from '💩hole' countries"

Beat me to it. Man. Imagine any leader we can think of right now saying that, the world would end. But when he said it, I chuckled, says it all

We can put up a screen grab for when folk view this thread after today.

My wife and I are Brits, and we often smile at what we hear on the news here in NZ.  Words like Bugger would never be used on BBC TV news, and I have even heard a newsreader report on someone being referred to as a wanker.  I wonder if the forum swearbot will let me post this?

[EDIT]  Blimey. It did too.smile

Gee I wonder what Trumpists might say about all that:

On Fox News's "The Five," Watters fought back against criticism from Democrats and some Republicans over Trump's remark, which some have deemed racist and offensive to immigrants from those nations.
"This is how the forgotten men and women of America talk at the bar," Watters told his co-hosts.

Anyway, the Washington Post explained (on Reddit):

IIRC, it's a Washington Post first to have a curse word in a headline.
In general, we would only publish swear words in rare cases when they are necessary to the understanding of a person or situation, such as a prominent official. Like if the president or pope said a swear word. In this case, it's the president.
This is much like our decision to publish Trump's words in the Access Hollywood tape, or Scaramucci's choice quotes from last year.

From CNN: "The decision to move the embassy from Grosvenor Square to Nine Elms was made in 2008 under George W. Bush, not Obama. It would have been impossible to retrofit the aging concrete building with the security measures needed, officials said at the time."

The s**thole remark though crude, will find a lot of acceptance in the USA.    He's probably voicing what over half of Americans, and many many people in countries such as Australia, Germany, France, Hungary and others, are thinking.
