Many will be people going home for family reasons and then trying to get back in again. The USA is massively reliant on this labour.

I believe Trumps only motivation for the "wall" and the immigration issue is racism and the need for a scapegoat.

Stan:

You can disagree with my numbers all you want (they are from Pew and the US government) we can go into the "tourist and student visas" illegal immigration if you want from my research that claim is incorrect.

It doesn't matter about there motivation for wanting to enter the country they still have 0 rights to do it (thats why its called illegal immigration) and there are good reasons behind stopping them.

One argument is about the numbers. Another is about the wall being an answer to anything. It isn't. It is just an expensive prop for the easily deceived.

CNN - Did Tillerson just take a veiled shot at Trump?

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson spoke to graduates of the Virginia Military Institute [VMI] and promoted the values of truth and facts in American society, saying that when we "go wobbly on truth ... we go wobbly on America."

Would you say this applies to all world border walls and fences?

I wonder how many illegal immigrants are employed in the various Trump ventures and on very low wages compared to others.

If Trump lines it with the National Guard and orders them to shoot anyone who approaches then it might work for awhile.

Yet another school shooting. They should be putting really high razor wire fences around ALL their schools & implementing airport style security. Have armed police at the security check point. No need for teachers to be armed. NRA would applaud keeping the kids safe. Everyone would accept it as necessary. Spending billions on this would surely be popular with the American voter. Armed guard on ALL school buses.

These are not perfect solutions but would be pretty effective, like airport security.

Not really. Effective at making it go somewhere else maybe. Then you end up fencing metal detecting and guarding everything anywhere with students. Burger bars churches summer camps etc.

These school events are almost always carried out by students. In this case using a parent's guns.

Does the USA have any safe storage regulations at all? I get the impression it's zero in most places.

Perhaps they should just flag the idea of school completely.

That they've elected a traitor to the spirit of their constitution to POTUS is a pretty good indication that their school system hasn't been working very well.

The students and teachers would feel fairly secure once they got in the door. Something like getting on a big plane & being pretty much assured that there won't be anyone with a gun or knife to cause trouble. The present situation is crazy with kids going to school wondering if their school is to be the next to be hit with this.

With 300 million guns in circulation, the NRA, Trump, and politicians unwilling to do anything drastic on gun control, any solutions will be imperfect.

I gather its a right under the Constitution. From the days of Bonanza. Its 2018 not 1818

Yes, and many whine and whinge about NK. Sometimes you need to ask, who is actually the rogue state?
