Pittsburgh cartoonist says he was fired after 25 years for making fun of Trump

A cartoonist who lost his job at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes his searing portrayals of Donald Trump were the most likely cause of his firing.

Rob Rogers was terminated on Thursday by the paper for which he had worked for 25 years, after six cartoons in a row were spiked ...

... including this one:

Rogers’ cartoon on the Trump administration immigration policy.

You can see the hate in his eyes. I've seen him twice on TV now and his arrogance for a 32 year old is scary.

"Judge declines to order Avenatti to stop talking about Cohen case

"An attorney for Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, claimed that Avenatti's statements could deprive Cohen of his right to a fair trial in a civil suit filed by Stormy Daniels"

by Phil Helsel and Katy Tur

"A federal judge in California on Friday declined to immediately impose an order barring Stormy Daniels’ attorney from publicly sharing his opinions about the guilt of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

An attorney for Cohen, in a motion filed Thursday, sought to bar Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti from commenting on a civil case filed by Daniels, the adult film actress who is seeking to invalidate a non-disclosure agreement stemming from a sexual relationship she says she had with Trump over a decade ago.

The White House and Cohen have denied that Trump had an affair with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

BBC - US child migrants: First ladies speak out on Trump separation policy

Laura Bush, wife of the former Republican President George W Bush, launched an outspoken attack on the [separation] policy.

"This zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart," she wrote in the Washington Post.

"Our government should not be in the business of warehousing children in converted box stores or making plans to place them in tent cities in the desert."

These images are eerily reminiscent of the Japanese American internment camps of World War Two, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in US history," she added.

Earlier Melania Trump made a rare statement expressing concern.

Mrs Trump "hates to see children separated from their families", her spokeswoman said.

PeeWee Herman's evil twin

Yep - I got that, but we shouldn't speak of Peewee's crime against nobody really, in a dark theatre, by himself...

I knew Stephen Miller really reminded me of someone very creepy, some monochrome conversion for effect.

You'd think a key part of the next election strategy would be listing all of these lies, they go on and on. Therefore election is an easy win for the Democrats. Or an easy win for a different Republican nominee. The flaw in my point, is that this is America

Trump panic tweet of the day:

If Trump's as innocent as he claims, then why the incessant ad hom attacks and repeated lies?

This is how scared guilty people behave.

Clearly ~40% of the US population either don't know they're lies, or accept them as lies important to the plan to MAGA, or consider that "everybody lies".

IMO it's not as if even the most ardent Fox News fan shouldn't have reason to doubt the president's honesty - it's that they're OK with this.  And that's why - in my opinion - this Trump calamity is bound to have a very unpleasant end.  It's not as if that 40% of the population is going to wake up one day to think "we've been lied to - Trump has to go".  If Trump end up in prison - as he probably should - that'll be absolute proof to them of all the "deep state" conspiracy BS he's been fomenting.  They will riot.

There has been a succession of major scandals since before Trump was even elected.

It's made no difference, from that you can probably assume that future scandals will make no difference.

It's not "normal times".  I'm not confident that anything will stop Trump(ists) now - it's too late.

The biggest threat is probably that the US economy tanks.  Unfortunately if that happens, Trump(ists) will blame China or Europe or Soros or Obama, and support for Trump will just get angrier.  I think we're going to see war - history seems to show that's the end game for tyrants.

Trump wants a new army, a Space Army. Makes sense, given that nations since a treaty years ago that says no military in space. he wants the US not to be beaten by China.
