Even Godwin says Godwin's Law doesn't apply when talking about Trump and his supporters. So why shouldn't we here call him for what he is? Nazi.

Absolutely

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Winston Peters says the forced separation policy is a matter for the US. I guess that sums up the attitude of the NZ government. Frankly I am ashamed.

MikeB4: It's also reflective of the nation's that don't stand up and say stop Mr Trump or you can keep your exports.

Ok - what should they do?

The first "first world" representative democratic nation's politician to stand up and openly condemn Trump and impose sanctions will be effectively writing their resignation letters and handing power to the populist movements in their own nations.  Trump will crucify them - look what he's trying to do with Merkel.

Too often the world ignores for fiscal gain and these crimes are allowed to happen, it is bloody disgusting. But I guess a child's life does have a dollar value, probably less than a shiny new TV.

This sums up the US. They have no concerns for children or the rest of the world except for their own political gain.

Not the USA. Trump administration yes. Massive power of the executive branch.

Unrelated to that Congress really should revoke all the silly terror war powers they granted the executive branch. It's kind of logical that excessive executive power had a part to play in leading to all this stuff.

Here is a direct link to one article on it. Green, National and Labour all against it. Winston says he is troubled by it but not enough to send a formal missive about it apparently. Says he will mention it to the ambassador when he next sees him but won't make a special effort to express our disgust. I think he wants to ignore it in some hope we don't annoy the US and he can get a nice comfortable ambassadorship there when he retires.

The Trump administration has left the United Nations’ Human Rights Council

The United States has announced it is leaving the United Nations’ main human rights body, marking its latest withdrawal from an international institution.

There seems to be a pattern emerging here ...   undecided

There most certainly does.

They're using failures of those organisations and agreements to fully achieve the original goals as a reason for throwing their toys out of the cot.

This could have been okay if "part 2" of the plan was for the US to use their immense power to unilaterally work to achieve those goals - but it sure does look like what they're doing is the exact opposite and using it as an opportunity to wreak havoc themselves, on trade, on human rights, on the environment etc.  It would be bad enough that they'd be doing this from crass stupidity - but they aren't.  They're doing it mainly for money and power - and to f*ck anybody who could get in their way.

Corey Lewandowski, a former campaign manager for Donald Trump, was on the show to debate with Democratic strategist Zac Petkanas about the Trump administration’s controversial family separation policy. Petkanas mentioned the report of a 10-year-old Mexican girl with Down syndrome who was separated from her mother when Lewandowski interrupted by saying, “Womp, womp.”

"Did you just say ‘womp, womp’ to a 10-year-old with Down syndrome separated from her mother?" Petkanas responded. "How dare you. How dare you."

womp, womp: a popular sound-effect on TV gameshows, when someone loses.

Humanity has sunk to a new Low.

I don't have words to describe the disgust and anguish I feel at the latest actions taken by Trump and his administration under the guise of protecting borders.

As someone who was separated from my parents by the state at a young age, I have some idea as to the damage it causes.

Trump should go to prison for this.

I am struggling to contain my emotions.

It's evil personified.

This is the kind of thing that overcomes any personal differences between people. I feel the same anger and helplessness as everyone else here. I don't know what to do but I will start by trying to avoid buying anything American. Most things I want are not really things I need, and those that are have Chinese alternatives. Maybe this won't go anywhere but all movements start small and some take off. I am not on Twitter but if anyone wants to start a Boycott Trump hashtag, feel free.

"Time" magazine is a moderate centrist US magazine, bets known for its "person of the year" covers.

As mentioned previously in this thread, the gang MS-13 originated in the US, and only later became based in central America.

"People Are Angry President Trump Used "Infest" to Describe Undocumented Immigrants"
By Abigail Simon

http://time.com/5316087/donald-trump-immigration-infest/

"Twitter users reacted strongly to President Donald Trump’s use of the word “infest” to describe illegal immigration.

Responding to criticism of a policy that has led to more than 2,000 children being separated from their parents at the border, Trump tweeted that Democrats were to blame.

'They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our country, like MS-13,' he wrote, referencing a violent criminal gang based in Central America.

Critics of Trump’s language argued that it was dehumanizing to use a term traditionally used for pests."

Wall Street Journal - Michael Cohen Wants Trump to Pay His Legal Fees

Former personal lawyer for Trump hires New York attorney Guy Petrillo

Michael Cohen has hired New York lawyer Guy Petrillo to represent him in a federal investigation into his business dealings, and has told associates he wants President Donald Trump, his former boss, to pay his legal fees ...

Mr. Cohen has frequently told associates in recent months he is frustrated that the president hasn’t offered to pay his legal fees, which he has said are “bankrupting” him ...

He has said he feels that Mr. Trump owes him after his years of loyalty to the former real-estate developer, whom he served for nearly a decade at the Trump Organization.

The White House didn’t respond to a request for comment ...

Mr. Trump told reporters on Friday that Mr. Cohen was no longer his lawyer. “I always liked Michael Cohen,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to Michael in a long time.”

Loyalty to Donald Trump is a one-way street.  undecided

I doubt Trump has any real money anyway. It's all loans and ahem brand value.
