The New York Times - House Votes to Kill Trump Impeachment Resolution
July 17, 2019
WASHINGTON — The House on Wednesday killed an attempt to impeach President Trump for statements that the chamber condemned this week as racist, turning aside an accusation that he had brought “ridicule, disgrace and disrepute” to his office.
The move split Democrats, underscoring the divisions within the party over whether they should use their majority to charge Mr. Trump and try to remove him from office, with 95 signaling their support for at least considering the question further, and 137 moving to stop the current effort in its tracks.
The president brushed off the vote as a victory, and hours later, at a rally in Greenville, N.C., he showed no signs of easing his attacks or toning down the vicious language that led to the impeachment attempt.
He charged that the “dangerous, militant hard left” among the Democrats were “hate-filled extremists who are constantly trying to tear our country down.”
By the end of the rally, Mr. Trump went even further, accusing them of seeking the “destruction of our country.” ...

freitasm: A civil war there would probably see the Confederate flag again.
As they say "The South will rise again" but this time racists and nationalists are everywhere.
Don't need a Confederate flag - Trump's loyal fascists are comfortable with the US flag.

The New York Times - Trump Voters Are Not the Only Voters
They are, in fact, in the minority - so why do the media and Democratic leaders seem so obsessed with them?
July 18, 2019
The anti-Trump vote is the single largest coalition in American politics.
That was true in 2016, despite Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the Electoral College. It was true in 2017, after Democrats won major victories in Virginia and Alabama. And it was true in 2018, when the anti-Trump coalition gave Democrats a majority in the House of Representatives.
Despite their influence, however, anti-Trump voters are practically invisible in recent mainstream political coverage.
Instead, the focus is the president’s most fervent supporters, as it has been since 2015 ...

Dumb as a door. And disrespectful. Also, probably, jealous that she's got the Nobel Prize last year.

Remember when Trump was going on about Obama being born in Kenia?
Now he's going on about Congresswoman Omar being married to her brother.

The New York Times - Opinion - Donald Trump Hates America
July 18, 2019
In Trump’s version, “American” is defined by three propositions:
- First, to be American is to be xenophobic. The basic narrative he tells is that the good people of the heartland are under assault from aliens, elitists and outsiders.
- Second, to be American is to be nostalgic. America’s values were better during some golden past.
- Third, a true American is white. White Protestants created this country; everybody else is here on their sufferance.
When you look at Trump’s American idea you realize that it contradicts the traditional American idea in every particular. ...
America is exceptional because it was launched with a dream to take the diverse many and make them one - e pluribus unum. ...

I googled The American Dream. Coined in 1931, its great. Looking at a more modern definition, its also great
In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.
More modern. The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, the set of ideals (democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity and equality) in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, as well as an upward social mobility for the family and children, achieved through hard work in a society with few barriers.
As @Sideface posted, it is clear that Trump must hate America. Worlds apart.
