Hi,

I'm looking to jump ship from my current UFB provider - and I'm considering Voyager. However in early November i'm moving to a new address - Fibre is available on the street but i'm not sure if its been installed inside.

What would I expect if I signed up now, and then setup a move order in 1 month? Is that kosher?

What are the timelines on moving from another provider when it's all fibre.

honestly i would stay with what you have, ascertain if the new place has fiber or not.

if it has fiber i would sign up to voyager for starting from the day you intend to move, try and find the ONT serial number and provide that when you sign up.

if it doesn't have fiber move your current service to the new place. then when you are in start the fiber order and cancel the old service once fiber has been confirmed as working. you may end up paying an extra months service to the old provider but its a small expense to pay to ensure you have continuous service

Transferring to a new provider can get done within the day the order is placed - it's only the RSP's own internal processes that will slow that down.

But yea, unless fibre has been installed at your new place, probably no point mucking around with it all until you actually know what's at the new address.

Thanks for the feedback - Something for me to think about.

I've been offered a 'one time deal' to break contract with current provider that i'm keen to take up so I might see if i can get them to keep my service on until November then look for something new.
