There is precious little difference between retail banks - they are all just there to sell you 'products'.

The colour/logo/uniform is pretty much irrelevant.

Only banks like Coutts, Cater Allen, Adam & Company, Arbuthnott Latham & Co etc etc have any real point of difference today and none of them have branches here!

Well I have had my first negative experience with the new ANZ now and it has been less than a month! Right after the system switch I visited my local branch and asked them to link my National Bank (now ANZ) accounts with my Joint ANZ accounts (which I share with my fianc?), so that I could access all my accounts with the one account login. Simple enough I thought and the staff agreed (although it did take them a while of reading through photocopied papers with instructions on how to work the new National Bank system they had inherited).

Fast forward 10 days and I go to buy something at the local Mitre 10, card declines twice (not an account balance issue) so on the CC it goes. Head into ANZ to be advised that my National Bank branded cards have been de-activated as the account 'merge' had gone through. "Were they ever going to tell me this?", "You should have been told when you asked for the account merge", "um, I didn't ask for a merge I asked for them to be linked in online banking?", "Oh well they've been merged now".

Now I'm sporting the blue ANZ card which they generously loaded the wrong PIN onto as well. Not feeling the love with this new entity at the moment.

Do ANZ have an android app? I see they have a iphone one, but not one for the android. More people though must have android phones than iphones I would have thought. I think the old natinal bank one may work, but they need to rebrand that.

Yea you can use the National Bank one. ANZ Go Money for Android seems to be due before the end of the year.
