I've been on their Sprinter plan for 8 days now. I'm also contributing to the SamKnows stats for Quic.

For me it's been a smooth ride so far. I am still waiting on a static IPv6 allocation though which I hope comes through soon.

Here's a grab from my SamKnows box.

Perhaps it's a location thing and only affecting users in certain parts of the country?

Where abouts in the country is everyone?
I'm in Oamaru.

I'm in Ōtautahi/Christchurch and have had no issues since changing from MR in Feb.

Even when Quic were having issues I barely noticed (though I don't use ISP DNS and was on a work VPN the whole day)

I have not noticed anything myself at home (I have Quic as a secondary connection) but I have no real monitoring on that connection however I also have a friend who has a VPN to me who is having some random upload speed issues and packet loss like a few people here have seen.

I've tried reaching out to Quic a few times. I understand they're a small team but have only had radio silence and they've last posted on the 16th. I totally understand they provide basically no support but I would expect from a potential network issue they would reach out to the community with a little more information.

But not to worry. Hopefully they do come back!

Hi all!

I sincerely apologise for the lack of updates to the GZ community here - we love you all and this isn't how we like to show it!

We've had all hands on deck with these packetloss issues which has meant less resource to man things like this account.

However, we now know what the issue is and have located the cause of the problem.

We're now working with both everyone internally, our vendors, and external consultants to ensure we get this sorted.

I'll post once I have an ETA on this, and of course will post a rundown on the why, what and how once we're out of the woods.

I am in Auckland, and a friend of mine who is also on Quic -- we have both noticed garbage performance over the past couple of days.

Currently getting 78/13 on a Speedtest.net speedtest. It varies a lot. Packet loss is abysmal.

And yet, there's been absolutely *no* communication. No response to my messages on Facebook, and their status page just says everything is green.

Everything is not green.

Very upsetting.

Did you even read the latest post from Quic?!

Those speeds sound like something else going on.
You doing those from a pc connected directly to the router by Ethernet?

My guy

They're

A- small and starting out

B - Actually very up front and clear on issues when they do happen

I would give them some time to get back on social media, especially as, above, they dedicate resource to resolving the issue before worrying about the message count.

Comes with the territory of signing on with a service like this.

NB/ there are known issues they are working through and have communicated this

If it impacts you so, this is possibly not the service for your circumstances right now.  Or, it could be the roll out of something that could be great for us all if you hang in there?

Hi My Guy,

As a customer, if I, say, didn't visit GZ forums, how would I know there's a problem?

Anyway,

Things seem to be better now. Not sure what they did, but, yay, it's fixed!

I did see a route change from bng3.xxxxx to bng1.xxxxx so that could explain why it's improved, has definitely improved for me.

Be kind. They're a newer provider with a smaller team of people. These problems are often needle in a haystack type problems that take time to investigate and also resolve.

Just note that Geekzone is not official support for them and the person behind the Quic account is basically volinteering their time in being here. If you diagnose the issue and think there is a fault with them and the fault is 100% not on your side then raise a fault with them via the Quic portal. I understand this case was different, but this is still a self service type ISP regardless.

Lets not scare them away from Geekzone ok :) if you require ongoing support then Quic may not be the best provider for you. Things may change after this incident as they learn the best way of doing things.

The speeds have definitely improved however I see trafic directly goes to akl instead of going through chch

I currently use two 950 plans on port1 and port2 and combine them on wan aggression on my router ..
