Hi - I'm on the hunt for a Wireless Audio Player for my new house.

Basically I have all our audio on one PC and want to be able to pick it up on a separate (all-in-one preferred) device that we can play the audio in other rooms.

I'm aware of the Squeezebox - but that's been around for awhile.   Does anyone know of anything newer, similar, better ?

Cheers

I have a Sonos system set up at home. Does more than just play your files off your PC, it streams Internet Radio and uses online services like Spotify.

Apple Airplay seems to just work. Apple TV box ($160 ish) at the room stereo system. They even have airplay standalone speakers these days too.

Do you want different music to play in different areas at the same time?
Or are you looking to simply stream the same music through out the house?

Basic criteria is - all in one unit that has the ability to adjust its own audio, select from library.

Don't want to manage music so Wife has to change, kids then change so forth etc.
Want to choose album play - simple.

It's fine, all in one and will handle Airplay just fine... plus it has a CD player, USB and radio (for not too much).
The limitations are inherent with Airplay though, you can only play one track from your PC at a time (so no independent playback from room to room). If you want to achieve this without moving towards a Squeezbox, try looking at some of the DLNA solutions on the market.
