I've actually found that 1.0.2 introduces a lot of stutter for TV 1080i stream, that didn't exist in 1.0 Final

It was fine for the tv server but on a client it freezes (and is very slow) when loading it, and has only made it to the main screen once (only to freeze again). The settings program takes about a minute to save settings. Tried fresh and upgrade - no go.

My upgrade was slightly better then. Could load MP etc, but occasional crashes and tv was a bit jerky. Did fresh install of 1.0.2 from scratch, and it is working fine except for TV3 1080i which i think has a deinterlacing bug in v1.0.2 that wasn't there in 1.0 final

I was keen to upgrade bc the dynamic refresh rate changer is a really good addon for 1.0.1 / 1.0.2.

Changes refresh rate hz to multiple of source fps.
ie 24hz for 1080p24 movies, 60hz for ntsc dvd, back to 50hz for pal tv etc...

My TV hates anything but 60hz when running at 1360x768 (native, Sony D Series). At every other resolution you get heaps of options but that comes with heaps of overscan :(

Update: Vista (with SP2) has decided to be a PITA and wont open the firewall port for tvserver/mysql, even though the exe's were added and then the ports. I think i'll fresh install again, tempted to do 7 but that has some issues. I think.

yeah im lucky my samsung does all the refresh rates at 1080p with 1:1 mapping. however occasionally it jumps from Just Scan (1:1 map) to 16x9 mode, and you have to press the change mode button 5 times to get it back to 1:1.

With the auto refresh rate changer, how seemless is it? Is it like changing display setting in windows where the screen flashes black for a few seconds or is more something that happens within directx? Wouldn't that be a bit crusty, press play on a video/tv channel and the screen flashs for a few seconds. I guess I could just upgrade and try it out.

Flashes briefly. The refresh rate changes can use it's own internal refresh rate changer, or you can set it to use an external changer eg ATI's CCC or powerstrip etc. I think it is worth it. So for TV your display would be set to 50Hz, but if i watch a 24fps movie i can tell the difference between 50hz and 24hz (smoother)
