Hi guys im currently running Win7 Media center and today my TV One listings started coming up with missing data so I had a look at the guide sources and it doesnt show a TV one source for me to link to TV One in the guide for the listings anymore.

I checked using Big Screen EPG and I still have TV One checked and downloaded the latest EPG file from Haventech and imported the info again back into Big Screen EPG and into media center and checked again, I still have no TV One listed under the guide sources but have all the other channels I use. I did notice in the media center guide that if I click on the program currently airing on TV One (using Freeview tuner) it updates the next program coming up but none after that.

I dont understand why Big Screen EPG is throwing the TV One listings into my Media center, any help would be great.

Cheers Stephen

Does the XML file from Haventech actually have the data in it?

I had a look at the XML file on the site and TV One has a channel section but no data.

Yup - that's what I meant - sorry wasn't clear enough.

This has happened occasionally in the past and is usually corrected fairly promptly.

Yep, exactly the same issue with the same source and BSEPG here.  I can confirm that it seems to be an issue with Tvone info in the haventech xml...

in the haventech tvguide.xml it asigns tv one with the Channel  I.D. <channel id="X0407">

but later in the guide all TV one programs are referenced as "X0774"
E.G.
<programme start="20110328000000 +0000" stop="20110328003000 +0000" channel="X0774">
    <title lang="en">Emmerdale</title>
    <desc lang="en">Victoria returns home from a night in hospital; Ashley is informed that the church will only remain open until a new buyer is found; and Jasmine and Debbie worry about Shane.</desc>
    <category lang="en">Entertainment</category>
    <video>
      <present>yes</present>
    </video>
    <audio>
      <present>yes</present>
    </audio>
  </programme>

change the first I.D. to <channel id="X0774"> (to match the channel I.D. used for the individual program entries later in the guide ) then save and reload the EPG.

this worked for me in mediaportal

Where abouts do I need to change the channel id? on the source file or within bsepg? I have BSEPG automatically import the file without downloading it first so not sure how I would go about changing those details.

Cheers

I don't use BSEPG , but after looking at this page http://bigscreenglobal.com/bgproductscreens.aspx?PID=BSEV1 , it would appear you can set it to get it's xml file from anywhere... so.....

download Haventechs xml file to your desktop, then edit it, then tell BSEPG to import the xml file from your desktop, then remap your channels and go for it.

Why not just use EPG Collector, or do you need the Sky content?

It's a lot easier than having to rely on somebody else's XML file.

In my case I need the SKY content... otherwise I would certainly be looking at another source as this is not the first time channels have dropped off.

I've PM'd a note off to haventech in the hope they pick it up. They're usually really good at sorting things in a matter of days.

I've just had a look at the xml file and it looks like it's fixed. TV ONE has been renumbered X040B and there are episodes now listed against that channel.

EPG Collector does EIT as well so off DVB-S, or do you have have a composite feed into your PC with IR blaster?

Currently I have SKY DVB-S s-video with IR Blaster into a PVR-150 and Freeview DVB-S into a PVR-3000 in Windows 7 Media Centre, so an all in one solution would be best, At present I don't want to change too much as I'm moving house in a month and will be picking up Freeview DVB-T.

I'll certainly have to read up on EPG Collector and see if it could support what I'm doing as I've not had a proper read up on it yet. You know how it is - you spend hours and hours getting something working well and trying something new is daunting what with the good WAF at the moment. :)

I appreciate people suggesting EPG collector every time we ask about EPG issues - it does seem an excellent solution for those who can use it - but I'm on telstra cable and have no FTA or Sat access.  And using BSEPG or similar seems the only way of making my own "mysky" box, anyhow!
