Anyone else using this update?

Also is it compatible with TCL 55E17NUS?

Firmware is one for all their devices.

Ok thanks mate, is this from TCL or did you find it from somewhere else? just worried I brick the TV then they won't fix it that's all

Batman:

it's just laggy. like there is something going on in the background (doesn't matter if it's a fresh boot or resume from standby) and then when you try to press settings it doesn't load settings until 15 seconds later, things like that. youtube video (not 4k60fps) is jerky (not buffering, but more lag related like it doesn't have enough CPU power)

basically the exact same symptoms when my old computer is also throttling.

what's your current firmware?

I don't experience anything that you described.

I've found the disable toggle and disable every single thing that I don't need and now it's very snappy. So I'm guessing something was doing hard out thinking in the background

I have a 55E17NUS - upgraded from v364 to v373 a while back. Works much better.

Tried the v509 and then v475 with no luck - just get the TCL splash screen. Downgraded back to v373 and all is well with the world again.

File sizes were about the same (1.2GB) for each version however I did notice v475 and v509 didn't take as long to transfer - weird?

v475 and v499 were from TCL europe (Poland), v509 is from aussie forum, but I guess it was originally obtained from Polish dudes too.

v475 officially available from TCL Italy and Russia.

apparently they officially released v495 in Russia (http://static.tcl.com.ru/data/download/v8-t658t01-lf1v495.rar)

Working fine, it's a little more irritating to get to TV though as it seems to go to Google TV/Movies instead, have to go to the sources list then select TV.

Otherwise thanks Kobiak.

After seeing comments regarding updating tv reminded me to try and sort out my TCL 55E17NUS tv and turned on and pleasantly surprised to get OTA update for version 373 which makes for good new year hopefully. Since May used about one week before crashing have not used since doing update downloaded from this forum and tv just not usable as constantly looping from boot screen after colour circle then go to white android writng and just crash always restarting again so just powered off and put aside as too expensive to courier or deliver to service under warranty and then they would probably tell me no warranty and charge me as not legal update. So hopefully having legitimate OTA update from TCL makes this better as will be covered by warranty so hopefully tv still goes ok and no more problems.

I've got complete opposite trouble. if I set-up digital channels (normal freeview) - TV start up to these, whatever I select. So i disabled these completely now. Live channels is way better!

v509

Thanks mate!

But I tried update within system or turn on TV with holding power button, both not working, seems it can't recognize the update file.

My TV is 65E17NUS, any ideas?

Have you switched off fast boot? have you formatted USB drive to fat32? have you used service port? have you unplugged tv from power? hold power button and plug TV on.
