Hardcore or not, I just did some baking (10 minutes at 195C).
When the mobo finally craps out, put a few slices of good-quality cheese on it, throw it back in the oven for 10 mins at 195C, then send it to @Freitasm.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Awesome fix - well done.😀
And thanks for posting the results - Always nice to know the outcome of some of these little projects.

I am honestly lost for words, seems like something out of an urban myth. I am delighted the outcome was good though. Congrats.
How come the heat doesn't cook the electrolytics??
Is it the 'resoldering' that does it?

The baking the board in an oven repair is pretty hardcore.
Plus maybe a bit hit and miss re longevity.

Hardcore or not, I just did some baking (10 minutes at 195C) and what do you know - it's working again!!
And as long as I am forearmed with a couple of screwdrivers at the bach, I can give it another quick toast up down there as and when required lol
Given that it only gets used a few weekends a month at most, I reckon this 'repair' should last a while though - at least long enough to coincide with the next mega Harvey Norman sale.
The Oven Bake trick is a well known fix for failing Graphics Cards- it reflows the PCB soldering which can crack after several years. I've done this several times.
Glad it worked for you.
