I can't get rid of my Sonos stuff soon enough.

Put it up for sale here, I'll buy it.

I wouldn't put that frustration on GZ members.

My biggest gripe with soundbars is that you don't get enough volume from them, even the big boys just lack a lot of grunt.

Arc really challenges this notion.  But, again, "when it works".  I've had the house feel like it's about to fall over during some scenes in Dune, for instance.  That's with rears and a sub, mind you.

Well, after being told by Harvey Norman that my soundbar (Samsung HW Q990F) could take up to two weeks to get delivered, it arrived today, two days after I ordered it 😁

Got it set up and I have had a bit of a play with it. So far I am extremely happy with the sound for both movies and music.

I watched the opening beach scene from Saving Private Ryan and set the sub and volume to my taste. Sub goes from -12 (no Sub) to +6. I settled for 0 which gave me some nice deep, rich explosions, I only had the volume at 21, but it can go way higher than that. Surrounds were loud enough for me, but can be adjusted up or down in the Samsung Smart Things app. There are several other settings in the app that can be turned off or on to the listeners taste.

Listening to music from my Apple Music app, I couldn't get a good connection to the soundbar through Airplay 2, but had no problem streaming it through the Bluetooth connection. No doubt I will get an Airplay 2 connection after doing some troubleshooting.

Set up was as easy as plugging in the cables and feeding the soundbar some sounds from my TV. The soundbar just seamlessly connected to everything. I have since done some fine tuning, but this thing really is plug and play as advertised.

I think that things can be tweaked further as the app has an equalizer that can be used to adjust most speakers.

I bought some speaker stands from PB Tech yesterday, so I already had something to put the speakers on. Very nice looking stands too, and the perfect height for my seating arrangement. They have a premium look, heavy base for stability and height is 781mm, the top plates that the speakers sit on are 200mm in diameter, and are slightly larger than the speakers. They also have hidden cable management.

EDIT: Started troubleshooting the Airplay 2 connection, and immediately found that I didn't have it turned on on my iPhone 🤪

Working great now!
