I went into HN yesterday and paid for a LG C1 65" but they said deals are coming out tomorrow (could be delayed a day or two from HO) and they don't know what they will be so wait till then to collect the TV and if it's on special they can then give me that price.

Hope you didn't pay much more than $3600 then...

I got a better deal at HN for a 65" C1, but if you don't have one near you...

HN now have it for $3595. If you can get it for that price and want it on the day - then try NL otherwise i'd buy online with HN - 60 months interest free, gift card, and shipping is only about $89.

Noel Leeming has listed the LG C1 65" at $3562

Both Harvey Norman and Noel Leeming said to me that they will refund the difference if a cheaper price appers not only at black friday but also boxing day. I am still undecided between the C1 and JZ1000. We have a Panasonic Plasma for movie and TV watching and do not play games on it, the C1 is looking to be a shade cheaper with the JZ1000 sitting at $3698 at HN after cash back so it might be the C1.

Probably much of a muchness between the 2 at that price but the Panasonic would just pip the LG as a Movie watching experience(it even includes HDR10+) where as the opposite applies for gaming as you cant go past LGs full support of Hi End gaming features when it comes to that. LGs Web OS would get the nod over the Panasonic OS as well in my opinion. After all of that,A relative just recently upgraded their 10+ year old 50" Plasma to a 65" HZ1000 and are extremely pleased at the huge jump image wise they got. In the end unless you are an avid gamer you cant go wrong with either.

Thanks ARIKIP, my thoughts are the same. Getting a decent demo of them was hard as they were either not on display or not connected up. I viewed a C1 which was impressive and I am unlikely to notice any difference in the two so will see what I can negotiate at the store. We use Apple TV for streaming so the OS is not a major. We are very happy with the plasma and only changing as the family would like the larger size.

As ARIKIP said I would go the same way. JZ for Movies and C1 just for gaming. I upgraded from a Panasonic plasma to the GZ1000 (2019 OLED) and I'm super happy with it. Had good experience woth Panasonic TV's in the past so kept on. I believe out of the box the picture on the Panasonic is better. I watch more TV's and movies than I game so that was an easy choice for me.

So the general consensus seems to be C1 for games JZ1000 for movies, and also C1 for games A80J for movies.

What would be the pick then between the A80J and the JZ1000?

I went to Noels today. $3500 for c1

$4200 for JZ1000

Best they would do. I really want the jz for the swivel base. I will wait till friday just incase they drop the JZ1000

I am also upgrading from an ancient Plasma 50"

I would go the A80J. Its basically an A90J minus a smigeon of the A90Js Performance eg The brighter panel(supposedly its not the Evo Panel LG uses in TVs like the G1?). Both use the same Image Processor which is a bonus as its very good. Maybe the best on an OLED? Its out of the box calibration is supposed to be close to spot on Too. It runs the latest Google TV OS as well too.

HN don't sell Sony, NL do both. I prefer the Panasonic picture and processing but all the panels are made by LG so the basics are all the same. Get what suits you best
