Has anybody had use of the new Sennheiser wireless range? I've been looking a the RS-185 as an upgrade from my wired Sennheisers though the current price ($639 at Computer Lounge) is a little bit of a deterrent! The few reviews out there are pretty positive though.

Yes I have the 175 and it's good. I upgraded from the 170 because I mistakenly thought I had a fault with the 170s which I didn't.

I have my 170s for sale if you want something more price accessible

Thanks for the offer but I will hold out until some more (apparently) essential purchases have been made and get the 185's - they seem more music focussed as opposed to the other versions which look like they're more home theatre. Will be hooking them up to my 2 channel set up purely for audio

Crazy I thought. I'd be in if I didn't already own a treasured pair!

So I am moving into a flatting situation after living with my ex partner for nearly 10 years (read can be noisy when I wanted) so I am giving up my Home Theatre in my bedroom and wanting to go for headphones.

I was toying with the idea of using my Polk Ultrafocus 8000 but the idea of constantly transporting them home doesn't really float my boat, then I saw reference to the Sennheiser RS-170 wireless headphones above (too late to grab those) so I think I want to get some new headphones.

They will need to sound as good as the Polk's, they don't need to be noise cancelling as I will be using them at home, they will rarely play music, it will be more likely to be TV and Movies from my HTPC, they will not use an external amp and would like to be wireless.

And of course there is a budget of around $200.

Please fill me with your wisdom!

Also I have seen the Sennheisen RS-120 from DickSmith for $150 and was wondering if they are any good? This is where I am leaning, unless someone wants to sell me something in good nick that will do the job for around $200?

I ended up going to Noel Leemings and getting the RS-120.

I am curious does anyone know if I could get the HDR-175/185 and use the base provided with the RS-120?

Anyway these are not bad for watching TV etc, haven't tried them for music so I will have a go at this tonight and post up my thoughts.

What music? what source? Do you want on ear, over ear, or in ear headphones?

I'll be there in spirit, NZtechfreak. Unfortunately there are other commitments which I can't avoid. I'm sure it'll be a blast!
