@sideface $2199 is the price I can see. Do I need a coupon code ?

$2199 was the price last week too.

I'd buy those at 30% off for sure.

If you mean the Sennheiser HD800 S 'phones, these are "instock at supplier" - therefore no discount.  frown

"All Specials and Coupon Codes apply to In-Stock items only. Does not apply to In-Stock at Supplier."

A pity, because they are superb headphones.

I am very excited I managed to pick up a pair they arrive next Wednesday. They are my end game headphones I think. Once I have thrashed them a little I'll post some impressions. I have HD650's and T1's to compare to.

Well my life is over!

My Polk Ultra Focus developed a fault where the controls stopped working, Mighty Ape can't source these any more so have offered a refund (or store credit)

I have asked if they would consider a partial credit as these are great headphones, if they don't agree to this then I have to decide if I keep them as is or take the credit and buy new headphones.

I have been looking for reviews on the Sony MDR-1000X and Bose QC35 but I really want to same sound quality as I get from my Polks.

Has anyone listened to the Polks and QC35's?

I know I should listen to the QC35 myself but also want other opinions.

Found some new Polk's on Amazon for $240 including expedited shipping, I guess that solves my problem!

You said it yourself, you need to listen to them yourself. Sound is subjective. I'd be surprised if any ANC HP competed on sound quality with a dedicated audiophile headphone, so if you are looking for sound quality first, I'd suggest not going with the QC35. They are excellent sounding, I was surprised, but they are NOT audiophile headphones.

What's your budget?

I think this is your third pair or third fault with them right? I'd consider that a major downside.

Also, depending on your listening environment and source material, it's worth considering that a slight drop in sound quality is somewhat unlikely to be noticed, and it's more a matter of a different sound signature that you'd notice. Less bass, more bass etc.

CL had a special on the HD650's for $419, they might still offer them, I'd find them hard to beat in the sub $800 price range, also I've heard good things about the NAD HP50, I considered a pair, but they weren't much/any better than the HD650's (different).

I've always wanted to hear a Chord Hugo, if you are ever overseas or on holiday and need someone to keep it safe and well used while you are away :)

I have a iDSD Micro if you wanted to compare.

Ok so my replacement headphones arrived from Amazon today, ordered Thur. afternoon and arrived from the good ol' US of A this morning.

Remind me of why we should purchase locally :P

$241 NZD compared to... well no where in NZ has them any more.

I know the risk, especially as I have had issues with 2 pairs over 2 years now but for the price it is worth it to me.

Waiting on refund from them. To be honest they have been nothing but great to deal with.

Sorry, yes I returned the headphones last week, they tested them, found the reported fault and initially offered me a credit or refund via the same method used to pay for them.

I had initially asked if I could get a partial refund and keep the headphones but later realised I could get them from overseas. Just waiting for the full refund to be arranged now.

Woohoo, so my HD800S are shipping and will arrive tomorrow. I believe I got the cheapest genuine brand new HD800S in the world paying just $1542 for them with the 30% coupon CL recently ran.

I am struggling to contain myself from driving to the depot to get them.

Great deal! I certainly would be getting in the car and heading for the depot as soon as I knew they were there...

I thought the 30% off is only for in stock items? Well, congrats on the great deal.
