Can't say I'm impressed with Containerdoor so far: o I placed my pre-order for the xm4, got an order confirmation email and such. And I see today my order has just disappeared without any notification from them. It's gone from my profile, and the order page is gone too. I've emailed them to ask what's happening, but I wonder if anyone else who had orders in for the second batch still have them? @Benjip, is your order still there?

I can only imagine that whoever supplied them would be getting quite the uppercut from Sony to be undercutting like that on launch. I bet they borrowed Spiderman from Sony Pictures to fix this.

Either that or they massively oversold a tiny allocation.

Same and I expected they did what @Jaxson said. I still hold out some hope that they are collecting pre orders before charging all the cards but not much hope.

I am not sure if I should be happy I have my $400 or sad I don't have my headphones.

Re. Container Door, just wait a bit to see if it resolved. We ordered something unrelated recently and had a similar thing occur with the ordering, just disappeared with no trace of it being ordered, but it did re-appear within 24 hours.

Re: containterdoor. I highly recommend following the comments on the cheapies deal.

I guess they need to find a supplier somewhere who is dumb enough to drop their pants on a hot selling item... without needing to.

It must be a double whammy of badness for them, make far less profit than they could have - AND manage to potentially annoy / disappoint a bunch of customers at the same time!

It's all grey market, the manufacturing cost of these headphones won't be any higher than a $50 pair (although the R&D cost might be higher) so Sony won't be loosing money on these, they will just be making less.

Think about the local price for these, how many pairs they will sell in India at $599NZD? The local price will be lower for that market so thats the sort of place that the grey market stuff comes from.

You tube red is only a couple of dollars per month in India. If you hop on a vpn when you sign up you pay the local price.

All the other models have dropped to sub $400 around xmas. I think the first one might have taken to the second xmas to reach that price.

I checked Container Door 10 minutes ago to see no record of my order.

But I have just this minute received a tax invoice from them for the XM4's and now my account shows an order with the status 'In Progress'.

Fingers crossed.
