Hi all,

I have an interesting problem.
I just bought a TH-49ex600z and it supports recording TV.
Great.
Instructions state to only use USB 2 slot for recording (USB3), And sure enough if you put a USB stick in USB 1 the TV recognises it's there but it will not recognise it for formatting for PVR.
OK, Cool, So I've tried 3 USB sticks so far formatted FAT-32 and NTFS, 16 Gig -> 64 gig, TV recognises them and will play videos off them, but when it comes to formatting for recording off the TV all 3 come back as
Formattting Failed
USB Device not supported.

I've searched high and low on Panasonics site to see what they requirements for a USB drive is to no avail.
The manual does show hooking up a proper External drive (USB Cable -> Drive), But hey a thumb drive is just another USB drive

So given it can playback off the USB thumb drives and I can guarantee one of the thumb drives is indeed USB 3.0 (written on it)
What can this TV have against the thumb drive for recording?

Thoughts/Help appriciated.

Thanks
Terry

Have you tried an external HDD rather than USB drive? Both appear differently from a HID perspective.
