I just want to check something. 

I'm going to plug my laptop into my TV via an HDMI cable. Will the sound go to my TV?

I've done this before with VGA connection but had to play sound off my laptop, which as you can imagine was awful. Added some speakers to the latop but not the same quality. 

Hoping if I go down and buy an HDMI cable the sound will then go through the TV.
