I'm trying to slim down my travel kit. When I travel now I carry a work laptop, work ipad and personal tablet. Work supports BYOD so I'm trying to consolidate to one device. I need something with excellent battery life, a trackpad or mouse (I edit a lot of powerpoints on the road and the iPad isn't useful for that), light and a good typing experience.

I've gone round and round a but but I'm currently considering the HP Spectre X360 13 inch and the Surface Pro 6. I can get the Spectre with an i7 and 16GB for similar money as the Surface with an i5 and 8GB. The keyboard on the Spectre seems much nicer but the Surface is more portable.

Is there anything else I should be considering? I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the Spectre at the moment but open to feedback.

I've ended up with a Surface Pro 6. I've just set it up and it is really nice to use. Very happy so far.
