Hi Paul.

Today it was a bit quiet so I put my Skinny SIM into my SGS2.  I got the first message about receiving a configuration message.  I waited 15 minutes and nothing arrived so I went to the went to the Skinny  site and did this.

Name: Skinny
APN: wapaccess.co.nz
Proxy: <not set> *
Port: <not set> *
Username: <not set>
Password: <not set>
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://mms.mmsaccess.co.nz
MMS proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS port: 80
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
Authentication type: <not set>
APN type: default, mms <no space between default and mms>
APN protocol: IPv4

Internet works fine but no MMS.  Just says sending when i send and when a MMS arrives it  just comes up with the icon to download  which it never does..   At the bottom of the fone it says " Currently unable to download, Please try again later"

Have been over the setting.  One thing Is there a coma  in this setting?? default, mms

TIA

Regards,

Old3eyes

Thanx John. Tried that still the same. It looks as though Skinny like Telecom use one APN for both Internet and MMS.

Hi John.

I should have included this in the orginal post

"Select a profile to edit, or hit the List key and select + new APN to add a new profile (you can have multiple profiles and switch between them)Then enter the following values / ensure your values match the following (this applies to and will setup correctly both data access and MMS):

I assume by that it is an all in one APN..

As usual John you are correct.  Set up one for Internet and one for MMS and it works.  The skinny website is a little confusing in this aspect..

many thanx for the help Smile

No worries and who do I post the invoice to you or Skinny?

Previously on the Skinny website http://support.skinny.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/348/c/1/kw/mms

It used to devices with android 4+

Needed to add more into the profile to make it work with 1 apn

What it said was do it normally

Name: Skinny
APN: wapaccess.co.nz
Proxy: *
Port: *
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.mmsaccess.co.nz
MMS proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS port: 80
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
Authentication type:
APN type: default, mms (or Internet+mms usually on Samsung phones)
APN protocol: IPv4

AND

For android 4 and above also set the proxy and proxy port to 210.55.11.73. Port 80

I used this on a friends htc one x and it worked fine. If that doesn't work:

Try what's now listed on the page I linked to above, it says

Note for Android versions 4 and above you need to setup both APN and MMS profiles:

Name: SkinnyData
APN: wapaccess.co.nz
Proxy: *
Port: *
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC:
MMS proxy:
MMS port:
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
Authentication type:
APN type: default
APN protocol: IPv4

Name: SkinnyMMS
APN: wapaccess.co.nz
Proxy: 210.55.11.73
Port: 80
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.mmsaccess.co.nz
MMS proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS port: 80
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
Authentication type:
APN type: mms
APN protocol: IPv4

Hope this can help people in the future
