Hey All, just an observation having been camping around Rainbow Mountain south of Rotorua, noticed no 4G off the cell there. Camping over two nights. Full 3G but barely useable data I would imagine due to saturation. Coverage map seems to indicate 4G available off the site.
Using iPhone 7 plus latest firmware. Same issue on iPhone 8.
Not a biggie just an interesting observation :-)

the spark coverage map shows very limited coverage in that area and skinny shows the same thing (being the same network and all)

Yes quite right it does show limited coverage.
Interestingly I was right up to top of the hill having walked up to the summit and was still only getting 3G only.
The Gis Geek map does show 4G being available off that cell.
Photo attached of the antenna set up for those interested :)

One of the problems all networks face is how to get backhaul to remote sites. You can't magically get Gigabit backhaul over a long distance links using DMR!

the 4g off the rainbow mountain sight is 700mhz, so could be for RBI only?
