Christchurch. Have three different people, 2 of us Skinny one Spark. Internet has crapped out with phones showing 5G.

Two phones are iPhones one Android.

It wasn’t working last night either, was working this afternoon.

Seems to be area related as 5G worked fine when in different part of town last night.

I’ve got everyone here back online by forcing phones to connect to 4G.

Not sure how to get cell ID, I’m working at moment will have a play in a couple of hours.

I have a spark cell connection that sits on that exact cell site I believe OP is mentioning.

Happy to share it with Spark if asked in a DM, however on a Xiaomi Poco F3, significant other reports no data issues and is on 5G.

First port of call would be to log a fault, but feel free to DM me some
details.

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.

It’s working on 5G at present. Still haven’t found how to find cell site ID on iPhone.

Tried googling but no joy so far.

Call this number *3001#12345#* and it should pop up Cell ID information on iPhone

Dochart thanks.

Strange if I put in contacts and name it test, it goes call failed. But if type numbers 1 at a time and press call then it works.

At different location now. Was trying that number but think I may have had the * and # around wrong way when next to each other.

If I go into Rat serving cell info, fourth line down has CellID. Thank you.

If it fails again, I note times it fails, comes back and can give Skinny a call with information.

Looking at the spark coverage map.

it appears there’s some tiny patches of sketchy coverage towards both the Edgeware and Avonside ends of Fitzgerald Ave and a tiny bit of sketchyness on the CDB side, Waltham end.

a couple or less blocks towards the CBD, there’s a rather large colossal metal mountain growing by the day (Te Kaha Stadium / One NZ Stadium)…potentially that’s a living piece of art that’s gonna change some coverage patterns as it becomes enclosed. (Thinking reflections and blocks).

Haven’t had any problems since. All been going good.

I did change a couple of settings, not sure if that would effect anything though.

Changed low data mode to standard, and changed 5G Auto to 5G on.
