Just curious, is anyone finding the internet patchy tonight?

Some sites load right away, others don't (eg,google reader).

Maybe, I'll reboot the modem.

I'm having same issues here all day. International traffic very slow - google.com taking a long time to load in. Internal sites trademe.co.nz running fine.

+1. Google incredibly slow. I thought it was my setup and had been rebooting etc. Between this and the usage meter it seems like Telecom have really stuffed something up somewhere.

On the phone to telecom now and reporting it - frustrating when you spend part of your day running a business designing and building sites!

Reported to Telecom - put on hold to the tier 2 team and gave up waiting - maybe they have chipped off for the day?
Google issue also affects maps on trademe property listings.
Also google ad servers running slow across 3rd party sites.

I had problems earlier in the week where I couldn't get over 1mbit download.  Tried rebooting Modem, no difference.  Called up Telecom and they did some line tests and said there where no issues that they could see.  So tried speedtest again and just like magic it was back up to normal levels.

weird eh?

I'm sure there was a problem that they put it under the carpet.  And fixed it.

This is good to know.

I just installed 64bit windows onto my PC, and thought maybe something was wrong with my install -however, sites sometimes work at full speed, sometimes not and now I see others are having patchy service too.

Trying to install java now - the installer is download about 1KB/Sec.
