DravidDavid: Yea, I'm maxing my line in steam right now. What server do you use? I'm currently using the server in New Zealand but was told that wasn't the best one to use.

Is there a server that performs better than our local one on BigTime?

It's just a region setting that says try to use servers close to here.

There are no public steam content mirrors in NZ, recoil run a private one restricted to xnet customers only.

Steam will typically use Aussie or US content servers for game downloads.  Most of the big Aussie ISP's run steam content mirrors which is good for us.

YouTube HD is almost unwatchable.  I try to download the video instead but only get between 30KB/s and 70KB/s.

I'm at a friends house, so I will try again at home tomorrow.

EDIT: It seems to be doing a nice 900KB/s after I posted.

You can't edit your post after a certain amount of time. Its a very good feature of this forum that I wish other forums would adopt, otherwise people alter or remove posts so it just looks like you're talking to yourself.

Seems i am having problems refreshing game severs on some games. Might be the game Clients i am using just seems to load only a fixed amount lets say 200/2000 Severs. I have manged to slow the sever refresh rate on some of the games to "Dailup-Hell" To make it work ( Have to wait like 3-5minutes tho ).

Just started happening 1-2 weeks ago

No issues here.

Speed test is normal, torrents pulling at 300KB/s and HTTP is capped at about 250KB/s.

I still ping between 9 and 10 to Telecom. I'm having no issues with latency to anything else right now. Including VoIP and games.

I first noticed the issue just before 5pm and going on 8pm now it is only getting worse:

Pinging telecom.co.nz [146.171.18.242] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 146.171.18.242: bytes=32 time=847ms TTL=121

Reply from 146.171.18.242: bytes=32 time=994ms TTL=121

Ping statistics for 146.171.18.242:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 733ms, Maximum = 994ms, Average = 874ms

My connection is terrible, pages are timing out, when they do load they are painfully slow, my evening gaming is impossible with pings like this and internet radio is stuttering which i have never seen before.
