This Mesh is quite a seamless setup, there are two different setup modes.

The first is with the Smart Modem, Connect it with a cable up for the first sync then it will Connect over Wireless from there. You may also use Wired Backhaul. (Firmware 6.0.12 or Greater required)

The Second is with another Router, You will need Two Mesh units. one to connect to the existing Router, and then Wireless from there to the secondary mesh units.

For the life of me I cannot work out how to get my port mapping working since I swapped from the Spark Huawei HG659b to this new Spark Arcadyan Experia v10A. I'd really appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas. (Disclaimer: I'm not a tech network expert so please bear with me!)

Although the terminology and settings are different between the 2 modem/routers, I think I have replicated what I had working on the HG659b faithfully onto the Arcadyan. The port mapping shows up fine in the Arcadyan Port Mapping List and I can access the device I'm after (a WD Passport HDD recording my Cleverloop cameras continuously, using port :3022) when I go direct from within the network. However as soon as I try to access from outside the network via the mapping IP I have set ... nothing. Just times out.

HG659b Port Mapping settings
- Application = "WD Passport HDD", which maps External 5678-5678 to Internal 3022-3022 using TCP&UDP
- Internal Host = "Cleverloop-5600_Ethernet", which is my HDD device, at IP xxx.xxx.x.68
- When I am under the same network I can see the HDD fine using xxx.xxx.x.68:3022
- And when I am outside the network I can use my network's public IP and the designated port (yyy.yy.yy.162:5678) and it works without a hitch.

Arcadyan Network > NAT> Port Mapping settings
- Private IP = xxx.xxx.x.68
- Public IP = yyy.yy.yy.162
- Protocol = TCP&UDP
- Private Port = 3022-3022
- Public Port = 5678-5678
- When I am under the same network I can see the HDD as before, using xxx.xxx.x.68:3022
- However, when I use yyy.yy.yy.162:5678 outside the network it just times out

Restarting the modem/router and the HDD, etc, makes no difference.

Any idea what I am doing wrong??

Thanks so much for looking at this post and my apologies - careless typos on my part here in the forum, but not in the actual router settings. I have edited my original post to adjust all those port references to the correct :3022.

And I got that "Arcadyan" name from this very thread! Right at the beginning the name is referred to and I thought it easier than referring to Spark VRV9517UWAC34 ... not the most catchy model name!

Well that link does not work anymore😆 but has anyone got a manual for these or can tell me how I can use the files on my usb drive that is attached.

Can see thestoragee on all my devices now and see pictures, but any of my videos do not exist keeps saying folders are empty if you unplug and plug into a pc they are fine and also if I want to send a file/ pic to it nothinghappenss any help would be greatly appreciatedd thanks

For those also experiencing port mapping issues with the Spark VRV9517, I solved it by getting a different router. I was also unhappy with the SPARK_FON unsecured SSID's. Anyway, there were a few little glitches with an Asus RT-AC68U - there is something about DHCP lease times - whenever I make a router config change it is offline for a minute or two whilst it does an apply/reboot (only affects some config changes) the router loses the WAN DHCP IP address. Seems to take 5 mins or so to get a new one. Still investigating what I can do (didn't see the issue with the VRV9517, but the Spark modem reboots much faster). However, now it is up and working I can confirm that there aren't any weird SPARK_FON SSID's any more, and port forwarding worked the first time (I manually put in the port forwarding address; UPnP from the NAS didn't seem to work). My googling seemed to show that port forwarding on the VRV9517 / Experia Box v10 was a common problem. I don't know if multiple factory resets on the VRV9517 will fix it, I ran out of patience (already spent 4+ hours trying to get it to work). If you are patient there may be a future firmware upgrade to fix the issue.

Port forwarding works fine on mine..
If your running the latest firmware upnp should be fine. There was an issue with it initially.

A 5 min dhcp lease sounds normal for how most providers configure their network. Its one of the advantages to going with pppoe still.

Just wondering if there is a firmware upgrade available from Spark or someone else that needs to be applied to the Spark Smart Modem to get that port forwarding working?

This whole problem is severely impacting the usefulness of my HDD but we can't find any workaround.

On the subject of firmware, I cannot see anywhere in the interface to find out what version the firmware actually is - where is that found?

"Router Information" tab at the top, when in the "Overview" section of the GUI. :)
