We may have high charges for calling others, esp from mobiles.... but at least the reciver dosnet have also pay for the call. Imagine all your mates calling you during the day then you have the big bill for reciving all their calls. At least with caller pays you can control your calls.

I'm just glade I dont have to fill my Nokia 6255 up with petrol or I'd never be able to afford to use it!!!

Hi,

Did anyone notice DATA CALLS 1 minute long appearing on their bill for every attempted MMS message that was sent using the 6255i?

Please update

Well, my phone turned out to have one slight drawback - if anyone called me the thing turned itself off.

In all other respects I've been very happy with it.

But the Optus store finally has the replacement phone in and I should swap it next week. Shall report on luck or lack then.

I am a part time mobile phone salesperson who own a Nokia 6255 that does all sorts of things just like you mentioned.
I have found out from Nokia that the earlier 6255 version software needs to be upgraded.
Telstra in Australia are a dead loss.
Nokia Care in Aspley Queensland have been upgrading my own and other customers 6255, with success so far here are their details "Nokia Care Aspley Unit 3/ 1315 Gympie Rd 4034 (07) 3863 9500 Fax (07) 3263 9617 Email nccaspley@accordccs.com

Who knows about the critical mass level. There are more posts in this thread than most of the people who have posted in it :-)

There have clearly been some major problems with the handset.

Hows yours been going?

works great 90% of the time.

the rest, it crashes, plays up, and requires random fiddling to fix it. (or a re-flash, but that takes weeks so i choose to randomly fiddle until error messages go away)

i doubt i'll buy another nokia cdma anytime soon.

I had this problem a while ago. It messed up absolutely everything. It started when i received a text while making a call. I couldnt access anything in the gallery and things became clipart, however i left it over night and when i woke up the problem was only half as bad. That afternoon it was back to normal and no worries since. It was like the damn thing repaired itself.

Thats the only problem ive had since i got the firmware upgraded months ago. I love the phone, best $200 i ever spent

I got a refund on my 6225 and paid the $200 difference. I'd had the 6225 for almost a year so was very happy at getting a refund. That had more problems than a 6255 ever had!!

i hope nokia do try again with the cdma+bluetooth thing - i saw there's at least 2 nokia cdmas on nokia.com - haven't seen them on sprint yet so i guess they won't be here for a while.

What ever happened to Sony-Ericsson? someone slap them for getting my hopes up. Maybe they're waiting for evdo....
