Indeed, this here is false advertising, and blatant lies on Telecom's part, from our view.

I called them AGAIN this morning, got some asian person (suprise!), who said it was down to the traffic management software being fault and that they're working on replacing it.

If you really want to go with your accusations ask for an email from them when you ring them up so you can get what they are saying in paper, then you have your proof to take it somewhere

Um... I asked for a bloody email in writing detailing what was wrong, and that it will be fixed and that we will all be recieving a rebate of some sorts for our lack of service. They assured me that this would be happening, but it was 'not their policy' to give confirmation in writnig!!!!!!

I wouldn't hold your breath Mortiis. I'm going to call them in about an hour so i'll post back with whatever lies they tell me (i'm sure it will be something totally different again). Damm i hope Fair Go pick up this story as it may be our last hope.

Possum, yeah I know. I've been told something different nearly every day for over a week now, it's absolutely pathetic. be sure to DEMAND an answer from them and tell them that you ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE affected by this, and that Fair Go have been contacted.

Please read the FUG again. If he's an employee or not is irrelevant. Attacks like this count towards possible ban.

Just because someone disagrees with you, or point out something you don't agree with doesn't mean you have to attack the person.

If someone is a Telecom 'Employee', I don't think they would discolose it here in this thread (or would have desire to do so), it's up to their own discretion if they wish to discolose that.

nzpossum, we're all feeling shafted by this, myself included. We need to find a common ground and sort this out (Telecom included).

It is an attack. You are trying to discredit him by saying that anything he writes is/will be defending the company by inference. This is called an Ad Hominem premise. So be clear of it. You've been warned.

I think the biggest issue in all of this is net neutrality because Telecom have chosen to restrict speeds to certain websites.

No, Telecom have chosen to restrict speeds to EVERY website, 24/7 to an almost unusable rate of 20-40KB/s for me and a lot of others.
There's a difference.

To be perfectly honest, i just dont care anymore...Ive been following this topic and i just dont know what to believe, ive been told too many versions of whats going on. I was aware that the plan was managed but i have to agree with the person about waiting for an installer to download, most of the content you download (depends on what it is and if you can get it from a new zealand server) is mostly international servers and i personally dont want to spend most of my night downloading it, espeically if it was a game client for say Maple Story. But as for rapidshare and megaupload etc i dont use them so im not all concerned with what they do with those sites, if people are abusing the plan, then why not cap them instead of all bigtime/telecom users. Surely their software is capable of limiting indivuals who have high usage.

ddwagnz - I agree totally with you. I cannot even download ANYTHING - it times out before it's even halfway done, and that's even from downloading it from a official site or from a NZ based server. Telecom do need to fix this problem or ditch the plan, but... I think they've got a lot of butt-kissing to do in order
to win back their clients from this plan...
