Sorry, missed this one. In answer to your question, not really. You just sign up for Unlimited - it's pretty painless. You can of course keep your wireless connection until your wired connection is set up, which makes for a fairly seamless transition.

It would be nice if people on the 4G network (using the original wireless Huawai B315s supplied modem) who can not have any sort of landline, being offered an Unlimited option – say maybe the $68/mth over the current $52. This would make things simpler and offer a little piece of mind to the process. Do you think Skinny might address this in the future?

That might be a bit of an ask, how about $70/250gb sonetflix can be used for the WHOLE month (on SD)
Yes, even $70 for 250GB would be a good option as this just takes the guesswork out of where your level is and sort of stops you from having to think about the cap. It's not that I use 70 or 140GB, it just the simplicity in using the system when you feel like it and not feel as if maybe I need to hold back this week in case i do more next week.
I would have thought 95% of people would use less than 250gb on an unlimited plan making this essentially unlimited 4G based plan for less than the wired unlimited. Can't see it floating somehow.

We’d love to make it all unlimited, but at this point in time, the 4G network isn’t up to the task of offering a truly unlimited data plan at scale. Skinny Direct (and Spark) have addressed this issue with the introduction of non-stop data Freedom plans on mobile, which will be available after Easter (check out skinnydirect.co.nz for the full story). If you’re after an unlimited broadband plan, we do offer a fixed broadband service for $68 per month (no contract) or $58 per month on a 12 month contract. For unlimited broadband, we think that’s a pretty good deal.
Yes the plan you mention, which includes a modem, does seem good. However it does nothing for the customers who do not have the ability to put in a landline and rely on the fully wireless 4G option which they are currently on.

You're not buying the modem because you need a modem. You're buying the modem because this way that they can easily train their support staff. If you want the cheapest unlimited broadband in the country you'll have to deal with some tradeoff.
