Total beat up to get some publicity back.... take a look on Geek zone for instance, XT mobile is everywhere and in the market its the same.

Now as for txt not arriving?? what on earth would this have to do with network freq interference. ZIP!

As i have stated already, Vodafone kept saying CDMA breathes, CDMA breathes and so it does & now Vodafone are experiencing the same thing.

I wonder where the interrence is? 900 or 2100mhz coverage. From all the complaints on here, it seems to be mainly 2100mhz 3G cause bugger all 900mhz UMTS devices are in use.

The evidence will be interesting to see!

Yes I agree that the issue has to be debated in court before the allegations can be proved/disproved - so it'll be VFNZ spin vs Telecom spin and. I do however suspect that if you were to scan forums such as Geekzone or even Vodafones own forum you'd see that SMS delivery delays have been happening for a very long time indeed. Either way you cut it, the operative word here is spin.

I dont think that delayed txt is soley a vodafone problem, I know of many times where telecom customers have complained that txts arrive anywhere from 4 hours to a day late, recieving voice mail notification yet the phone didnt ring or showed missed call.

And as other people have pointed out, Telecoms xt has been transmitting since Christmas, thats well over 4 months, wouldnt you think that if your competiton was causing problems with your network you would have taken it up with them BEFORE they launch, not take a court injunction days out, reminds me of politics,

Just because of a new entrant , vodafone is just throwing up baseless reasons for fear of losing customers over new ones. I think its quite a mean, cheap act by a giant like vodafone with worldwide presence. So now that they allege that their network is so being interfered, does that mean that their infrastructure is substandard ?

I think its just gonna get poor name more cause of this "stunt" - atleast now i guess the layman will kinda realize that this could be possibly a case of stabbing even before the new network is even launched. If this flame gets more oil, i think vodafone may go as far as getting a stay on the network or even delay? I dunno, When they can get so CHEAP to charge a dollar for customer service they can also get hitman to bring the show down

Have been a Vodafone customer since Bell South, but going by this and other threads that I've been reading about Vodafone I think it's time to switch.

Sounds strange saying this, but go Telecom :-)

As has been stated before, the timing is odd, as the XT network has been active in the country for many months.

I reserve my judgement on this until i get some more info though.

The parallel is perhaps a 'high rotation' court case current underway, where we previously only had information from one side, now that both sides are shown, one could take the complete opposite view about what transpired.

More like telecom is interfering with vodafones plans to extract maximal money for minimal levels of service.

Vodafone's network wasn't exactly in a prestine, quality condition to begin with. It's like complaining my new BMW is interfering with your beat up Lada.

I have no idea of the technical details, and would like someone to explain what it means when they say CDMA 'breathes'

I'm sure the technical details with be interesting, and I will be following the case but from what I see, I don't understand how Telecom with all their engineering might could get it wrong, and seeing that MED don't think anything is wrong it seems how it's a cynical legal ploy.

It reminds me of when BellSouth came to town and Telecom freaked out and took them to court and tried to block them. :)

What I keep laughing at it that Telecom dont' NEED to do anything to break Vodafone's network, it's broken or downright offline without any help.

CDMA / WCDMA technology cells breath as numbers of users come on line & use it.

CDMA / WCDMA really have no limits to users on a cell as each call / connection is managed by a code & not a time slot like GSM.

As more users start using the cell the noise level rises as more codes / calls are in use, the cell breaths (shrinks in usable size) calls drop & voice quality at extremes drops off.

I am googling a proper description!

Let the matter go before the courts - no matter what happens Vodafone is still going to look bad. If they win then questions will be asked as to why Voda took the injunction route when other easier avenues already existed. If they loose they'll look like a greedy multinational grasping to stop competition.
