z2k: Vodafone has to have the worst customer service in the country.. When I went to buy my 3gs.. The guy serving me didn't even give me the respect of eye contact and was more interested in speaking to his mate.. I'm just looking for a reason to ditch this company that doesn't appreciate it's customers...
I also find it interesting that they only offered it for that plan and above, not the lower plans (with a smaller subsidy). The offer is good but I dont need that much talktime. I would be more interested in a $40-$60 plan.
Suney: Hopefully with all this competition, vodafone and telecom will release more realistic/competitive priced plans in the future
lotech: As a person with an unsubsidized iPhone on a Talk plan, I just worked through the offer to work out which is the best deal, spreadsheet results here - http://www.geekzone.co.nz/lotech/6634

As Paul has already commented on your blog, you have not factored in the VODAFONE subsidy in this table!
CRITICAL ERROR!
Please correct this because it is totally misleading and bad.
PaulBrislen: Hello the Mantis: to answer your questions:
1) Yes, but that's not what Telecom is offering. Instead you're on the 180 plan which includes 240MB of data. The 180 plan then goes to an overuse rate of 50c/MB. Ouch.
2) We've never said it would. The 2100 network covers all the major cities and towns (19 main centres) and accounts for 70% of the population.
Cheers
Paul
