neuromuscular: Ive been staring at the logo for a while now and I've been inspired! Ive realised it truly is about expression of the soul.... Thats is its the frustrated expression of any poor soul that rang 018 (or any other number needing assistance), and through unfortunate luck of the draw got the Filipino call centre! Poor soul...... ("no, no, listen for gods sake, I said WHA-KA-TA-NE!!!! )

MikeyPI:mikman: This change has been at least 3 years (maybe more) in the making. And for all of the anti-Theresa commentators, she initiated it.
The logo is a representation of a change in values based around People Power. It's a brave move considering where Telecom has been in the past.
The proof of how this works seeing the evidence day to day in what Telecom people do and their freedom to act to solve customer problems. There's heaps of it - all you have to do is see how proud Telecom people are to be representing Telecom in forums like geekzone, twitter and the like.
Telecom will always get criticised for change, but when you see how much they are investing and the impact on the market (just look at XT) I absolutely admire their courage for going out on a limb. Good on them!
Miki
Jesus were you on the design team or something?
PaulBrislen: Actually I'd already told the journo Vodafone didn't have an official response. Quite why he decided to attribute those comments to Vodafone is beyond me.
I would like to apologise to Telecom and to Vodafone. It certainly isn't a corporate position.
What I said was that some of the best logos in the world are the simplest - designed to look like they would if you'd had a bottle of wine and got some crayons. McDonalds, Apple, Vodafone, Twitter, Facebook - they're recognisable from a distance because they're so simple.
Clearly something got lost in the translation.
Cheers
Paul

mikman:
They seem to be looking for staff at the moment so all of those people who think that this logo design thing is a breeze should chuck in their tech support jobs, pick up a crayon and make your millions.

Behodar:exportgoldman: it's got too much baggage from the Gatting error with bad service and horrific performance.
Freudian slip? :P
NonprayingMantis: "A bottle of red wine and a crayon and I think I could do that," said Vodafone spokesman Paul Brislen. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10603733

freitasm:...Apart from being a kid's drawing, is this something that reminds you of telecommunications?
exportgoldman:Not all Telco's are spending 3 Million dollars a day on capex like Telecom though upgrading their networks, can Vodafone do that?
