How much did this re-branding cost? In the end Telecom customers are going to be paying for it.

I like it.
Which is just as well, because I have to work under it.
It's a lot less corporate and a lot more personal.
The "NZ" squared it cool too.

Its a mess. Just like Telecom. Giving Power back to the People! They use speak like that to try justify using a scribble as a logo.
Looks like the road map you have to go down when you ring Telecoms 0800 number, wanting to speak to a real person who knows where Mangawhare is!

I gotta admit. I actually really like it.

And its definitely a lot fresher than their old, outdated Telecom logo.

+1 - good on Telecom

Unfortunately it reminds me of my last call to their call center.
It was much like the doodle I drew with a Bic biro while I was waiting for an intelligent answer.

Exactly.

All rebranding exercises are fiddling with the lipstick, what matters is what changes they have made to the pig.

I'm still keen to see the new invoice paper, that's how the new logo will change my life the most, rows of yellow papers in my folders turning into perhaps a light blue? Or will it be crisp white?

These are burning questions!

I've decided that I don't mind the design now. It has grown on me and I think it will look really great on different advertising mediums.

They would have spent very little on the actual logo (which would be normal) - the big expense comes with the whole rebranding excercise.

Personally I like it - and I like the previously mooted idea of the 3 new business groups under Separation (Retail, Wholesale and Chorus). As good a 'meaning' as any, really!

As to what it means, positive change or whatever, is up to you and your experiences with Telecom.

I like it. The inverse version shown in the video (white 'asterisk' against blue background) looks really effective.
