What is funny is I can stream video from sites like escapist Magazine (big ZP fan) but can't stream other stuff that is considered international like TVNZ On-Demand.

Some stuff is shaped, some isn't.  And I'm still getting mixed messages.

One rep is saying "Everything is shaped" another says "Only international traffic is shaped." another says "Only specific traffic is shaped and HTTP is not one of them."

This is probably the highest I've ever gotten:

Its interesting how everyones is so much faster than mine when i know my connection is faster than 1.1 mbit/s as i can get 700KB/s off peak and my sync rate is close to 8000 kbp/s downstream

Its amazing how it takes a minute to open online banking page hosted in NZ. Any downloads via torrent going at 200kb/s and 800kb/s via http.

Does anyone have some sort of suggestion what is the point of throttling ssl/ssh ? Seriously, nobody hosts files on https servers and the fact that downloads from http are going at maximum speed makes me curious what idea stands behind throttling https.

its 9pm Auckland

SSL is used by usegroups and things like that and proxies services use it to bypass throttling in other areas that ISPs put in place, so there is another side to SSL than just internet banking etc

You didn't get what I'm saying here, What throttling is there to bypass when nothing is throttled?
How many Telecom users can afford https proxy to download stuff?

I'm not aware of any NZ newsgroup providers, so if they only limited SSL to international locations that would improve internet banking. I must admit I'm had no problems with ASBs website, but have with https to Australia.

https within NZ works the same way as in any other countries - deadslow.

Before I left from Auckland on Tuesday morning, was unable to update/download my podcast subscribtions, log onto steam, check my gmail or pay my rent via online banking, 6am. Return home Friday night, 113:30pm, same issues, open chrome no webpages are able to load, Helpdesk advise me my best bet is to call back tomorrow.

Router has been revolted, have tried with spare routers, same diff.

Enjoyable experience.

Had a quick check this morning before I headed off to work, seemed to be in the same state. Will do some more thorough investigation when I finish up here.
