I've been running the telecom version of 2.3.3 for about two weeks now and twice my phone has locked up. I've had to remove the battery and reinstall to get it to turn on. This never happened with 2.1. Anyone else experenced this? Telecom?
Also I see a new version of Kies has come out but haven't used it to see if it is any better.

I've been running the new Telecom version since it was released and have had no issues at all.  It is faster, runs Skype, the battery life seems better and I didn't lose any apps during the upgrade.  Perhaps your phone needs a trip to the "Telecom" doc?

The upgrade was mostly good for me. One major problem, though - my wireless connection comes up and shows full strength, but when I try to connect for emails, browsing, etc., I often get a "no connection to internet". It doesn't even try to use 3G till I manually turn off the wireless connection. This is intermittent, but 9 times out of 10.

If anyone can tell me how to fix this issue I'll be delighted.

No significant difference to my battery life either.

Yep - but if you "clear data" in Swype, it should start working fine again.

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>(Select "All" tab)>scroll down and select Swype.   Hit the "clear data" button and she should be hunky dory once you go back and select Swype as your default input method.  Can't remember but pretty certain that I didn't have to reboot - just started working as per normal again.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S that I purchased through Dick Smith. I'm pretty new to the Android thing.
The phone says:
Model number: GT-I9000T
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Build number: ECLAIR.DOKA1

I downloaded the latest version of Kies from Samsung's website then plugged my phone into USB.
Kies says:
This is the latest firmware.
Current firmware version: PDA:KA1 / PHONE:JL1 / CSC:JL1 (TNZ)
Latest firmware version: PDA:KA1 / PHONE:JL1 / CSC:JL1 (TNZ)

So, I'm currently unable to upgrade.

What would you recommend my next action be?

I plugged it into Kies today, and it told me there was a new firmware.
I guess Telecom took the update offline for a while, and brought it back today.

Took 10 minutes, and now I'm on Gingerbread.
