I've got a Telecom Microsim that came with the HTC One X I was given when doing the Telecom Tech blogging for that handset earlier on this year. I now want to use it in my iPhone 4, but when I insert it I get no service. When it's in the HTC One X I get 3 out of a possible 5 bars.

Is there something else I need to do to get the SIM working in my iPhone, or should the phone automatically connect to the Telecom network once the SIM is inserted?

Might have 3G disabled (needs to be on) or might be locked to another network

Ah! I do have 3G disabled on that phone right now. I'll re-activate it and see what happens.

Is it not possible to use a Telecom SIM without activating 3G data, or is that only required for activating the connection on the phone?

It's not 3G Data, it's 3G.

Telecom's XT network is a pure 3G network, so if you disable 3G... You disable the whole network.

Glad to hear you're sorted :)
