I'm wondering how prepaid casual data works? Info says $1 a day up to 10MB (then 20c/MB), does that mean that as soon as you connect your charged $1? Or is it broken up into smaller increments? If so, what are they? 10c/MB, 1c/100KB, 0.1c/10KB(!)? Chances are I'd only use a few KB a day checking bus real time info, maybe up to less than a MB if I went and read a few articles on m.stuff.co.nz; so really not keen on spending $1 every day but also wouldn't buy the $3 a month pack just to do that, I'd go without.

Also is anything zero rated? telecom.co.nz/ytmobile for example? Even if just that is zero rated, and I can top up and manage packs on it, then sweet. Otherwise I'll just top up/manage packs on the desktop at home, so no biggie.

Cheers in advance for any answers, off to work so I won't be back to read them until sometime this afternoon.

YyraelYou: will be charged 20 cents until you reach $1 in a day then you will not be charged further until you have used more than 10mb for that day. If you kept going after the 10MB you will be charged at 20 cents a mb again. I'm not sure on the part charging sorry, will have a look into it

You might want to check that;

telecom.co.nz: National data is charged at a pro-rated rate up to a maximum of $1 for the first 0.05MB, and from then no data charges apply up to a total of 10 MB in that same day
