Hi all
A friend of mine has a business and they have moved to cloud based software.
Obviously without the internet they can't continue to operate so I have purchased and installed a 3G router (Netcomm 3G22WV) with a Telecom sim.
They run one desktop and 7 laptops as a matter of course.
This will only be used in the event their internet goes down and will carry them over until their regular internet is back up.
Becasue of that we will only want to top-up immediately when their ADSL goes down as this might only be used once a year.
As I do not work there and the majority of staff are not good with IT, I need the most basic way for them to top up, get data on their Telecom sim and be up and running in the shortest time possible.
So far I have thought they will be best to ring 0800323232 and top up the 3G router sim via credit card but then how do they get a 500MB block rather than going on the casual rate? I see mention on the Telecom website of a $15 500MB option and that sounds like it could be all they need as it is only documents that are syncing with the cloud, not pictures or videos, and there is no other web browsing going on.
But then I thoiught they may be best to buy a voucher and have it sitting in the drawer but I'm unsure whether they have expiry dates and can't see anything on Telecoms website that clarifies that.
I will provide them with instructions on the best way to get up and going as quick as possible but they will need to be foolproof otherwise this won't work.
If anyone has done this in the past or has knowledge of the easiest way then I woudl be grateful for some real word experience as we can't really afford to be muddling around with it when the poo hits the rotating blades.
Thanks.
